This speedrun guy went directly to the right passing through the guard and went directly to level 2 without getting the sword. The game then gives you the sword automatically as it thinks you've got the sword already. The game creator didn't count on the situation that you can pass through the first guard without the sword...

You don't need the mouse if you are fast enough 4. Some people can finish the game before I can get to level 3 5. The game is actually beatable

Yesterday wanted to bring back nostalgia so downloaded Total Pack, and I got to say - I almost beat the game straight away, but then I messed up a little bit on lvl 10 and time ran out. Still, it ain't that hard :D

@@naratsu05 Yes, the princess releases the mouse in the little Cutscene at the end of level 7 for this reason. The gate comes down after you hit the level exit switch and after you move right to the next screen you're not supposed to be able to get under it in time. After waiting a bit, the mouse appears in the top right and presses the switch and opens the gate so you can drop down and leave level 8. TLDR yes you need the mouse. In most mods I played it was designed that way too by default unless you mess around a bit with the level editor

SUPER!!! For me and for my friends, there has always been one mystery associated with this game. On one of the last maps (13:16) a huge sword is clearly visible, lying at the top field of the map. This is the first time I see someone been able to pick it up and to use it!
@@rswpt I think your health restores when you pass a level. For example, in level 4, when you pass through the mirror, your health goes to minimum, but on the next level is restored.

That was one underwhelming shadow fight (wtf happened?). Cool to see the bugs and stuff. I beat this game on game boy (and after that on PC) before the age of 10. Still proud of that. 60 minutes then back to the beginning, instadeaths, some evil jumps...it's no joke for a little kid. They don't make them brutal like this anymore.
Arguably it could’ve considered ethical to avoid killing the guards as much as possible. They’re not really evil and are just following orders, perhaps unaware of Jafar’s plan. To them, the youth you play as isn’t even a prince yet.
When you start level 11, you can open the upper right door from the very first screen by using the same trick you used in level 4 to make the guard move. But instead of moving a guard, you are going to press the button that is on the other side of the door which will open the upper left door. I haven't measure if it's faster than the teleporting glitch, but it's also very fast.
Damn this game was super hard, I played it like 100 times but still couldn't finish it, my game had a second area where you had to find one drink between 26 different drinks 1 was the key and 25 other ones were poison...

5:17 When i was a kid i use a trick to fall down here without dying, with a side jump i went to fall on the platform and the wall at the same time, the prince remained standing. I've retried these days but and i can't repeat that, I think it was an older DOS version.

Cool! I was playing Pop1 in the 90s and my best time was about 37 minutes. But I had no idea about those different tricks like jumping through the guards and even no idea about the *megahit* switch (no RUclips back there). But seems there are either some bugs or just cheating: 1 time you went through the closed gate, another time through the wall and once you were hit by the saw but survived. Anyway, still extremely cool. 9:57 Lool. I was asking myself how are u going to pass this gate - now I know :)
