I've done the same thing with excellent results. It's how I cycled my tank. And yes, soak in chlorinated water for 24 hours. I'm lucky enough to have several water bodies to choose from. None polluted.
@@Gigachadly definitely not china. He literally found mosquito fish Ludwigia cabomba and parrot feather all North American plants and fish. As well as the scenery is definitely North America. Also his accent is definitely American.
Get you some high rubber boots so you can wade into it. This is fun to watch. Thanks!

@@AvatarAquatics do you live in the northern part of the US?
Located in NC@@vincentsreptiles5270
@AvatarAquatics Same here. I have a secret spot here in Winston where I collect. Lots of cabomba out here.
I think you found a Proserpinaca (mermaidweed) nice find😁
It does look like a very thin mermaid weed or a myrophilium
who is your mentor? are you studying about nature in some university?
Not cabomba that’s myriophyllum
Either that or it's mermaid weed. Definitely not camomba since it doesn't have the fan leaves but more of a feather.
Lol 😂
