I have 2 amanos in my 30gal. After each water change I add a tablespoon of salt to increase the pH cuz I keep mollies. Ans once I was cleaning the substrate and sometimes the sifon hose sucks a molly fry and I always check the bucket which I fill the dirty water. Last time I cheked and I saw a small shrimp in the bucket. Idk how the shrimps bred?

Hi dude, I am looking into trying to breed them in a 120 gall tote(122x122x30cm), my plan rn is to keep 16 to 20 of them in a 10 gall tank keeping and eye on them and fattening them up, when ready putting them in the tote that will have the substrate made off leaf litter/peatmoss ensuring the eggs to be hidden and to have a infusoria culture thriving in the tote (plus adding more from other cultures). Where I am going with this is from your exprecience do you have any advice or ideas I should have in mind? I know it is totally different but any advice is welcome. (There are more details but I think it could be too much for a YT comment)

My cardinals are spawning in the community tank - as you said, starts at dawn until about midnight. I run my tank 1/2 tap, 1/2 RO because my water is very hard. They first started spawning a day after I fed them Grindle worms the first time. Unfortunately all my tanks are full, but it’s on the list to make a spawning tank for them.

Does this work for pinocchio/red nose/bamboo shrimp too?

How do these guys even survive and reproduce in the wild?

I used Sera Omnipur A (less than half the recomended dose) without expecting it to do anything about the hydra but they are literary melting away! I put another half dose in now to get rid of them completely.

What is the temperature of that water?

My tetras just suprise me with babies every once in a while. I dont even do anything different.

Do you drip acclimate your Cardinals going back into your main tank and even when you bring them to the breeding tank to spawn?

Peat moss is horrible for the environment and not sustainably sourced. I really liked the microscope shots, though!

I noticed my rummynoses are sensitive to low oxygen levels. Was there anything in the breeding tank to create surface agitation?

Haha funny video, yeah I have dwarf rasboras and they saw a freshly born neocaridina shrimp for the first time, like when it s barely as big as a tiny grain of sand, and you know what it did guys? It went "I wonder what this tastes like". If it can fit in the mouth, depending on how fish were raised obviously since most develop habits, they will eat most things that they can if hungry. I am 100% certain even my otocinclus must have muched a few in their lifetime 🤣 Otocinclus see a snail I freshly crushed and it's like I rang the dinner bell, they are there sucking all the juicy stuff. Dont mix any fish if you want max survival rates for shrimp.

Hey, I'm still a noob in aquarium stuff. I have 2 amano, and just today I saw a juvenile crawl along some plants. I was surprised, since I never really tried to have them breed specifically, but it was a pleasant surprise. Never put them in any salt water too. It just appeared. I don't know if the fish will eat it. I don't know if they ate it's sibling. I don't know if it haven't been eaten already. I just was surprised, so I wanted to check out how it has even happened. All I want to say, the circle of nature persisted, even if not in the ideal conditions.
