I would pay 10,000 dollars just to sit in his living room and watch and listen to Aaron Lewis play and sing a few songs. This man is legend and will be remembered right there with Bob Dylan, .
I've read that Aaron came up with the lyrics except the chorus on the spot & shortly after performed it together with the vocalist of Limp Bizkit on stage. That would explain why he only backs him up during the chorus. Aaron Lewis has a one of a kind voice. Just like Layne Staley, Ronnie James Dio, Haley Reinhardt & many more. Cheers
You are the man. I got to tour with you for a bit and got to meet you, wish I could have gotten to know you more. One of the most humble and great artists I got to meet on the road. I value you sir.
I have been transfixed by this song since I first purchased Break The Cycle on the UK release day in 2001. The last verse... I am nothing more than a little boy inside, that cries out for attention, yet I always try to hide. This is still me aged 43 as it was aged 20 when the record came out.
Its a testament of true greatness, if all an artist needs is a supportive instrument such as guitar/piano & his voice to execute a outstanding performance. That's why I prefer soulful music like this over performances with distracting elements like dancing women & flashy cars in music videos any day. This song & Outside are playing on repeat lately. I also love how humbly Aarons home is looking. Speaks volumes about his down to earth & modest personality. A true legend. And one reason why I started doing vocals as well.
I have to say by universal understanding there's no song like somebody's heartfelt lyrics that relate to me every time I hear a song by anybody that I like especially staying Aaron you got it you got it going on it's regardless of what is written if it's written well and the lyrics are good and the person singing it is talented or has a voice that is beyond amazing I should say because I love it if you write it I listen and relate yes definitely break the cycle I've been trying I'm still getting I'm still trying to break the damn thing it just doesn't seem to be working but you know what one day I will then I'll be free of all that crap no matter what that crap might be in someone's life a cycle is a cycle if you can break it and then come out on top or at the most close to the top and go beyond them whoever started the cycle and you got it you'll make it do things with a purpose and on purpose not in a mean way but to break the cycle that's what I've been realizing I have to do things with a purpose and on purpose and be free to do so
My best friend past and this was his favorite song. I think of him every time I hear this.
