As far as trailers go too much is revealed. Han Solo shouldn't be shown as his rescue should be part of the mystery. Leia shouldn't be revealed/implied as his sister. But, no ewoks so thumbs up!

great work. My only gripe is that you shouldn't have cut to Leia after the line "you have that power too" as it's all too obvious that Luke was refering to her being his sister - which is a major plot reveal and spoiler for RoTJ. Whilst not being as big a twist as the father issue in Empire, it's still big enough to be left out of a trailer (IMO)
And seeing Han Solo on Endor should've been left out after leaving him in Carbonite in Empire Strikes Back.

No they did a modern trailer where they put in spoilers and essentially the entire plotline into the trailers these days.
I disagree. this trailer does not mention that luke even has a sister. actually we dont even know to whom luke was talking when he said you have that power.
That shot of leia looking confused was AFTER that dialog ended. luke could have been talking to anyone and meaning anything.
if you have seen star wars and empire at this point the trailer just hints that luke might want to train someone else to use the force, like how obiwan and yoda trained him. and it could very well be leia, or anyone really.
in the movie, the plot reveal of "sister" happens a lot earlier than this dialog and scene. you would not connect this part of the trailer to that reveal scene at all. plus when obiwan said sister it was only a matter of seconds before luke said leia.
this trailer has not spoiled that at all, imo

I think the Better trailer move would be not having the Luke Leia scene shown and letting “you have that power too” be a mystery. Gasp who could it be kinda deal, but good lord I need to go watch RTJ now

Great trailer… I would have tried to have not used any footage of Han to not spoil his fate and also to colour correct Luke’s lightsaber to blue like they did in the actual trailer to hide that reveal… but other than that, very nice!
My family has it (Luke embraces Leia), you have it (shows Leia again). That was a big spoil too back then.
"Now, Young Skywalker, You Will Die" would have fit perfectly before or after the laugh at 1:30
Luke’s arc is still one of the best ever. He’s a completely different character from the first film to this one.
Great things come to mind when you read Joseph Campbell, as Lucas did.
Trult a work of art done by someone who loves this story and has great respect for it's legacy. I was in tears. It made me remember seeing this in the theater as a kid sitting next to my Dad. Excellent work...THANK YOU!!!!
This trailer really shows the love luke has for his family and his new found confidence as a leader. Night and day difference since we met him in episode 4. Great job bro
Can't we all agree the saga ends with this movie and the last three are an alternative timeline?

A bit of a spoiler if I’m real time. But very powerful.
I’d say the best thing to come out of the sequel trilogy were the fleeting mi utes we had the with the original cast AND
this incredible score by Williams taken to the next level in terms of breadth, emotionality and grandeur.
The music alone moves me to tears.

Love that... would have been nice to not have spoiled the Ford being rescued with the shot of him on Endor and retain the mystery but apart from that it got me in the feels.
Yeah, more than a few spoilers in it, but not bad if you were putting out a trailer for a special edition or something.
I thought the point was to show how trailers spoil a lot... nowadays? I don't know, haven't seen one in ages for that reason.

That’s was dope, the laugh at the end was perfect.
I would have removed the AT ST getting destroyed, it removes the tension when you watch the movie and see the rebal party getting captured

The musical arrangements and newer episodic melody treatments were amazing, taken from the recent movies and well placed. I still have my ticket stub from 1983 when I went to see it.

Love this one, wouldn't be able to show Han unfrozen (as his fate in carbonite was unknown) or the Deathstar 2 (as we didn't know it was being built). The Leia nod as sister too.

great stuff. Back before there were tons of trailers jus before this was released the tiny fractions we got to see caused chaos. The scene with luke, all in black, standing next to Vader in the elevator sent all of us into a panic, us 8 year olds thought luke turns.
Did the same to my sister and myself. There was a picture of them in the elevator in Starlog and the caption read, "Vader takes a manacled Luke before the Emperor." My sister thought it said a "mangled" Luke and she freaked out! Haha

Imagine this trailer dropping as a total surprise during Superbowl 2023 (and dropping as a trailer in theaters the same day.
1) It begins with a black screen. Yodas voice comes on "TO LET THE FUTURE LIVE, REMEMBER THE PAST WE HAVE TO"

2) The Modern Trailer appears.

The best part was when the AT-ST walker was Malachi Crunched by the Ewoks you had the Millennium Falcon fly out of the screen. Way freaking awesome!
