- Welcome to "The Art Of War" listening party, metalheads! As we’re in the fourth month of 2024 we need to shine the spotlight on our fourth studio album! Did you know that “The Art Of War” was the genesis of a whole new era for us as a band? So many bangers here. "Union (Slopes of St. Benedict)" my personal favorite, "Swedish Pagans" (Re-armed edition), "40:1", "Cliffs of Gallipoli" and the list just goes on.
Seriously, it's all great stuff. A lot of them are super underrated too.
Union is one of my favorite Sabaton songs. Whole album is incredible

I’m gonna miss hearing Tommy’s experiences as a fan when these albums were released, at the same time as hearing about the album being created
I think that they pre-recorded all the listening parties before Tommy announced the departure.
Sabaton is like this friend who comes when all goes bad... He come and say "it's all okay, don't worry".

On a side note, drunk Tuomas headbanging to "Talvisota" must have been a sight to behold. Sabaton-Nightwish lore is getting even more interesting 😊

At 47:27, it took my breath away, where it was said that there would be a song on the upcoming album that would probably beat Cliffs of Gallipoli and Christmas Truce😯 Is the band preparing something truly powerful and heartbreaking?😳

Not sure if any of you had been told of this already, but since i'm from Colombia i think it's my duty to tell, during the war between the Koreas, there was an batalion of colombian soldiers, Colombia was the only country from latin america to send soldiers to help south korea, thanks to that there's still a friendly relationship between both countries to this day, we have an embassy over south korea and they have one over here, thats all i'm sure anyone can research about all of this , thanks to anyone that took the time to read this.

Guys is Hannes okay? He seemed very quiet and not his usual self. Also with his family issues you said he had over the last few months. I hope he’s all right. Just checking in on him. Hope his life improves a lot. Keep strong metal brothers. Though with that said he seemed to get better as it proceeded. Still always worth checking in with people though. Especially those who deserve it and make awesome music 🤘🤘

I met Hannes before he was in Sabaton. He was often shy & reserved by his nature. I think one of the other responses said it best, he's probably just tired.

I was 8 years old when my dad brought this album home. Of course it was because of 40:1 (we are Polish). And today I’m still in love with metal and I also play the drums. Thank you guys for that! 🥹❤️🤘
Is it just me, or does Hannes look like he'd rather not be there....and honestly I get that, he's got a new baby at home!!! Gonna miss Tommy in all this, I joined this fandom with him alone......Do love this album, once I discovered them I went backward 🥰 and have much of it on my playlist!

They all seem a little subdued and Tommy looks like you would just give him a big cuddle.

Art of War was the first song I listened of them, and it was completely by accident! I still remember that I watched a video of Medieval 2 Total War, and I was literally blown away!
37:06, 42:37 & 48:25 are definitely the best moments, Hannes was on fire 😂

Miss you guys in Western Canada (Especially vancouver) can't wait for you guys to come hang out with us again. When the Ukraine war began it was hard for me to listen to some of your song that I love but I have finally been able to seperate history from the events of the dark present and enjoy all your music's subjects again😊

I've become a Sabaton fan after listening to "The art of war"
I personally love this album.
It's interesting how different the mix comes out when you're streaming a record being played through speakers through a microphone on youtube.
This is the first Sabaton album I ever got to, and one that got me into Sabaton. Been into Sabaton since 2008. Glad I happen to stumble onto them because I like history. The Art of War is one of their best.

I only found this out recently but there was a solders from the isle of wight rifles took part at Gallipoli.

Love these listening parties. Cliffs is one of my old time favorite, but somehow I can not listen to it without visioning Joakim dancing the walz backstage during the solo after he told us about that in an interview :D

At 32:34, Chris says that the "cords during the solo on this one is the exact same as the Number of the Beast..." So, as he mentioned, an internet search for Iron Maiden pulled up this song, and one of the posters wrote: "Did anyone notice that Chris's solo sounded just like the solo in Iron Maiden's Number of the beast? I guarantee you he did it on purpose!"

My brother introduced me to this album when it was quite new and I was hooked. ❤
Some 12 or so years ago Galliopi was my introduction to Sabaton. But it was Price of a Mile that really sold me into having Sabaton as the top pick over all others...save for one. Since then with each song release it's also been a learning experience.
The Art Of War is one of my absolute favourites! It’s a fantastic album with many super great songs! And I’m glad I was on S.O.A then you played Firestorm live!!!! One of my favourite songs ever!! I just adore this album!

Unbreakble is my Most Favorit Song of the album and so until now
"Do you remember what you did when......" I remember being in a shower room cleaning it, listening to a radio program called Dist (I think) and either Pär or Joakim, maybe both, were talking about this album and played some songs. I was blown away and yes, a fan since that day. And later saw them open for Hammerfall in Scandinavium, and you guys killed it
