Right at 6 minutes. It's fun to watch his face as he goes through his vast encyclopedia of memorized knowledge. Watch his eyes. He's going back through everything he knows. It's cool to see if you watch for it.
A total pleasure once again to tune in. Great to hear from someone these days with moral principles. The character Luca Brasi in the Godfather film was actually a mafia person in real life. Coming from the UK I really like Lamb, and the European way of cooking it too. Great points made by the Coin Guy again.
Went to Publix and put 4 Kennedy Half Dollars on the counter for a two dollar Mega Millions and the girl said that will be 2 dollars. I pointed to the Kennedy Halves and she told me those were Kennedy Quarters. I showed her where it said half dollar. She took the coins to her Manager and eventually took them. Duh!!!
When the large portrait $10 bills first came out, I went to the Burger King drive-thru to pick up dinner. I gave the cashier the new $10 bill for payment, and she gave me change for a $100 bill. When I told her she'd have a $90 shortage at the end of her shift, she looked at me like I was nuts. The cashier then studied the bill more closely, and thanked me for my honesty. I hope that no one else paid for their meal with a new $10 bill before me.
You guys are lucky you got two good coin shops in Springhill, Florida Vermilion Enterprises and the coin guy. Nearest one to me is 30 miles away. That sucks. Glory to GOD!
Florida is the best state when it comes to the coin hobby, probably because all the old timers move to Florida to retire and they all bring there coin collections with them when they move so they all either sell or the family ends up with the collection and they sell it, either way Florida is where it's at!
A carpenter went to my friend's hardware store and made a large purchase of tools. The man took out a bag full of silver dollars and asked him, "Do you take these?" Needless to say, my friend ended up with a nice collection of Morgan and Peace dollars.
Well back in the early days my father told me his cousin that owned E F Craven heavy equipment in North Carolina, that someone had bought a bull dozer and payed in (change) coins, it took days to count it all and yes it was all in wheel barrels full of coins was how the story goes, they sold to the man.
Love, love, LOVE these chats with Coin Guy, Speg! Oh how I wish we were closer....I'd be in his shop every day he was open! Thanks for these videos! Greatly appreciated! Take care, be safe and God bless!
The reason restaurants use " round " numbers is because most kids aren't smart enough to make change for a dollar , I have seen kids working a digital register that tells them how much change to give and they are so stupid they still can't give the correct change , I'm standing there in amazement shaking my head in disbelief 😳
I love it when Guy is featured, he brings so much joy to the coin world. Also a quarter in the early 1930's had a purchasing power of $5.00, and in 1932 Nathans hots sold their dogs on Coney Island for $0.05 cent, which was equivalent to $1.00 today.

Regarding your comment at around 28:20. Stores can refuse to take certain currencies, there's no Federal Statute mandating a private business, person or an organization must accept coin or currency as payment for goods or services. Some states may have laws that state otherwise, mines however does not.
I love to use $2 dollar bills! I like to see where they try to put it in the register! I here that these are rare all the time. I told this story once before....The major university hospital in Iowa would not take cash several years ago to pay for the co-payment of a visit! I am scared of electronic money!!!!!!!
A few years ago I stopped coming to Florida for Bike Week, the toll booths around Orlando didn't take EZPass so I carried Kennedy halves to pay my tolls.
Here's a tip for Mr Guy. Next year at Super Bowl time get a blonde wig, tell everyone you identify as Taylor Swift. Maybe the "Swifty" effect could land him a live Super Bowl interview. Who knows, in this crazy country it might work. 😊😅😂

Thomas Jefferson was married and his wife had five pregnancies. Only one daughter lived to adulthood, and he never remarried because he promised his first wife he would never remarry when she was dying because his wife had been raised by a stepmother and she felt stepmothers mistreat children that arent their own. Are you and Coin Guy going to have the alligator on as a special guest on how to collect coins ? A Nebraska zoo removed 70 coins from the stomach of an alligator there because people keep tossing coins into the water where the alligator lives. It would be interesting to find out what kinds of coins they found.
I knew physical money was going away about two generations ago. I lived in CA. on a military assignment and took the wife shopping at Christmas on a Sat so was very very busy. (the days when all the malls had a Sears, JC Penneys, Mont. Wards and a Macy's). I was about no. 20 in the line and I noticed something. I was the only one and I mean the only person who paid with cash. How do I know? Thos were the days when the clerk out the credit card in the machine and rolled it across and gave you the copy and they kept the carbon copy so I could hear the noise and clicks all the way to the back of the line. There is a teenage girl in front of me who had a five dollar Indian head piece. The girl behind the counter wouldn't take it and the teen who had it said that it was a gag gift from her grandfather for graduation. She thinks it's a gag, I gave her five dollars for it. I know I’m late to this post, but I tried to make a purchase on SD Bullion yesterday and because I normally use a credit card and end up paying much more than I should be I thought let me just do an E check. Apparently, Chase Bank will not allow a echeck with SD Bullion not sure who else but you can’t do it. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
