This looks like a great project to build and fun to take part in too. I must agree with the previous comment though, lock up your diffs, you'll have even more fun!
Very nice home built tractor. You gave it a real workout. I'm surprised that you didn't have more traction. Maybe needs more weight, or limited slip differentials.
A very similar thing is done in Poland, but not for fun....under communism they found it hard to get tractors so they made their own.... from, car parts from truck parts, from anything they could find.....some of the creations were and remain quite useful.
Ther are videos here on You tube of Polish homemade tractors... some by a man called Lukasz Skapski google him, he has written a book (its mostly pics) all about these tractors, many of which are built with a low centre of gravity because they are used by 'Gorals' (hill farmers) to do all the things a big tractor has to do but on very unseemly side slopes. (I used a Yanmar F22D...lol too lazy to build my own tractor)
I've built LOTS of stuff, but living in a democracy it was because I could, not because I had to. Kijiji or craigslist or any of the local buy/sell sites have all the tractors/4wheelers/side by sides/dozers/etc. Yes we could build one, but why when everything is so plentiful? (Other than for fun that is)
Thought Challenger exactly, weld the rear diff and if it has unlocking hubs in the front, weld the front and leave the short axle locked in for 3wheel drive a good turning. If you need more, lock the other hub for all 4 pulling. You won't break axles because the tires slip in the corners, it's just hard to steer.

Konrad Bidziński having been to communist countries...holy crap, people in the west have no concept of the freedoms we have in democracies. Nothing has killed more people in the 20th century than communism, whether Stalin, Mao, etc, the hundreds of millions killed is sickening.

Cool machine. That is where a diff locker would come in handy.

@memcu30 yes (sort of) it's a points course so it is about technique as well as time.
thumbs up for kid singing
Pretty sweet, but if it had LSD front and back it would have smashed that course.
It would be great to see some on video - please let me know if you post any.
Proper fun
