When I was in college my roommate introduced me to this idea with a tuna salad filling. I am not a huge fan of hot tuna so I didn’t make it a lot, but it really was a delicious, easy to carry sandwich. But these are a great alternative! You could also do bbq beef in there as well!!
What a fantastic idea! They're like little mini meat pies my daughter said. We are going to make these! I think we already have everything to make them without having to go to the store thankfully. Lol I think the fillings that you could put inside these biscuits are limitless. They could be made into breakfast stuffed biscuits with egg 🥚, bacon 🥓, sausage, ham, etc. So many other things I can think of. But I think my favorite would be the cheeseburger stuffings. Scrumptious recipe Catherine!! Thank you so very much!
I'm going to make these with the grandkids on Friday. I'm teaching them to cook. 3 year old boy 6 year old girl. They both need to learn how to cook. You've got awesome recipes I can show them. Thank you dear.
Hi Catherine I watched & tried lots of your recipes they’re very good, this recipe is awesome because no more wondering for me for what to do with hamburger patty leftovers! I think a nice gravy drizzle/dip would be great too. TFS!
OMG,this is so creative and delicious 😋🤤 somehow I missed this one.glad I found it.looks so good 👍👍👍 thank you Catherine 🥰 hv a wonderful day everybody 💚💜🤗🤗🤗💛🤗💛🤗💛🤗💛🤗
This is different like that idea it was made with biscuits you could really get creative with the filling another winning recipe! Thanks for another neat way to fix hamburger instead of the traditional buns
Well ,all this time that l have been doing the old fashione way, l will be doing my hamburgers this way for sure. my husband's burger will be full of his favorites🇨🇦 fillings.thank you.
a restaurant in the town i grew up in called these "space burgers" because they look like a UFO - in the 1960's as you mentioned - thanks for the memories! :)
Oooohhh myyyy gooodnesss!goodness!! Those look amazing!! I know what I'm cooking for lunch today!! Thank you Catherine for your great recipes that you share!! I appreciate you so much!!! Big ol hugs and love from MamaJane in South Carolina
Yum catherine ! These are so delicious , I made for my friend on a cold day here in st paul minn , was awesome watching a movie better than popcorn lol , so easy and simple my friend was impressed I can cook lol , thank again catherine your amazing recipes are awesome on cold and snowing days here , chili is next and a movie , lol ❤😀😺
I think the best part of these burgers is how they're contained in the biscuit! 😋 Nothing worse than building a burger and everything falling out of it when you take the first bite. 😉 A little more time consuming but utterly delicious way would be to use a frozen roll. Just thaw it out in the fridge and press it out and put the hamburger patty in between. That would be like a real bun! 😘 I'm not sure if they even had frozen rolls in the 60's! But the convenience of canned biscuits made these so doable! And you can add whatever you want! 😚 Thanks for sharing another great recipe! 🥰
I just tried this and it turned out great. I was skeptical at first in how is this going to be. I actually like it and will be making this often. Thanks for the great recipe.
Looks so good, I have made a lot of your recipes, always a hit with my family. The only difference is I will make my biscuits instead of premodern ones. Isn’t hard and only takes an extra couple of minutes in prep time. Thanks for sharing,
When I was in grade school (in the 60s - 70s), we got something similar for lunch several times a month. They were called ‘Surprise Hamburgers.’ We used to joke around and try to guess what the ‘surprise’ was!
Another commenter mentioned cold leftover burgers done like this, great idea! Especially your Scout (or Hobo) burgers. Or even the rare, if not mythical, Philly Cheese Steak leftovers... Pulled pork.. Or... I should stop now...
Your biscuit cheese burgers look delicious!! What a fun and delicious way to make cheese burgers! Can’t wait to try this!!
Looks so delicious! There are so many varieties you could come up with too, like sloppy joes, deli meat, etc. The possibilities are endless!
Terrific vintage recipe ! Very creative way of doing burgers with the added advantage of the filling being contained in the biscuit! 👍😋🍔🧀🧀🧀
Thank you!!!!!! I love vintage recipes!!!!!!
I’d have to have some onion with this biscuit. But great great idea. ❤️❤️❤️
The kids will love this!!
Since I am vintage also, I figure this would be a great match for my tummy. Now you've got me thinking of other fillings to put in there. Great idea!
I am vintage to Mark, join the club.

I like using sazon seasoning to make hamburger patties
Those look good. Canned biscuit prices are ridiculous! ♥
These look delicious! I'd swap out the cheddar cheese for pepper jack, to give them more flavor, but these are perfect for those cold winter nights.
Looks delicious
Wow those look great. Yum! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you.
This looks amazing. Ill try it
Do you think caramelized onions would be ok to put in these?
And, add a couple/few pickled jalapeno slices in with the COs
Yes
I wonder if you could make tuna melts using this technique: maybe use tuna salad and cheese? That would be spectacular!
I don't see why not.
I have made these for years. Also made sloppy joes and did the same thing
And so easy
Looks so good, i bet mashed potatoes would go well with it 🙂
Yes, they would go good together.
Another commenter mentioned cold leftover burgers done like this, great idea! Especially your Scout (or Hobo) burgers. Or even the rare, if not mythical, Philly Cheese Steak leftovers... Pulled pork.. Or... I should stop now...
Who would’ve thunk?
Not meee!!! I do now!!!
I can’t wait to try this. It is also good to know for when we are out of buns! I wonder if pita bread would work also?
I would put some worshire and some BBQ sauce with salt and pepper in the hamburger and maybe some onions or onion salt
Where can you buy hamburger season? Thank you. Have a nice day. 🙂🌹
I get it in the seasoning section at my grocery store.
😋😋
Lady, your amazing.! Get a mobile cooking shack. I'd travel once a month, from Dallas, at least. Isn't home cooking the best.
I wish!
@@CatherinesPlates I will pray about it for you.
Did you use dill relish or sweet pickle relish?
I used sweet relish.
Thanks.
Definitely needs mustard or ketchup
The only thing missing is onion! 😋
What's not to love
