My mom did many of these things! 1 pound of hamburger goes very far with tomatoes, the right seasonings, and a good broth over noodles or potatoes. She definitely knew how feed all of us well 😊

I loved the way you decorate for the holidays, and how you garden in small spaces. I learn a lot about your created way of presenting natural elements out of the forest or your beautiful gardens. I really miss living there but want to visit soon.❤
Try lightly toasting a slice of bread then butter it. Press down the centre so that it can accommodate an egg yolk. Break the yolk so it spreads around the inside parameters of the toast. Cover this with a cheese slice then add 2 small rashers of bacon on top. Place under the broiler or grill. ( depending where you come from). Cook for about 4 minutes until the bacon crackles a bit. Key to this recipe is to cook the bacon. Keep the cheese melted and the egg yolk is cooked but still very runney. This may take a few attempts to get right to your personal liking. I disagree. I believe if you have trouble with the bread being smashed while applying the hamburger, I think you could just freeze the bread first. That's just my opinion though
Dad made burgers with beef, bread wet then rung out with apple cider vinegar, chopped onions, mustard, and some spices all mixed up and they were great! Your camera views are very nice and well thought out. Everything you made looked delicious!

The one with eggs reminds me of a similar one I've made for breakfast. Open face English muffins, ground breakfast sausage browned in a skillet, eggs, and topped with cheese and baked. Such a simple but delicious breakfast that feeds the whole house
That one would be really good if they actually cooked the egg white. There's not many things more disgusting than runny egg whites that can be put into someone's mouth.
I put two pieces of bread into the same slot on the toaster, it toasts only the outer facing part while leaving the inside soft and warm. That is how I like to use this recipe, and also it makes for quite a tasty egg sandwich/BLT

I live on the East Coast of South Africa and have 8 grandchildren (plus lots of cousins and friends) who are always hungry when they get back from going down to the beach to swim and that is at least 5 times a day and the first thing they ask "is there anything to eat Nanna, we're starving" our place is not more than 700 meters from the water so I can have everything ready to assemble and pop into the oven or AirFryer. Thank you so much for making my life easier.
We had these all the time when I was a child. We called the dish "Hamburgers on Bread." Don't know how my mom found the recipe, but we probably had hamburgers on bread at least twice a month. She was Swedish/Norwegian. Her mom, who would have taught her to cook, was the Swedish side. Mom always broiled hers (which sometimes meant burnt crusts, which had to be cut off). As an adult, my innovation was to bake them in the oven. No more burnt crusts. I noticed in the comments that this was a good recipe for big families. We had seven kids, and mom's family when she was growing up during the Depression, was also seven kids. It wouldn't surprise me if they used stale bread for the recipe when she was a girl.

I was raised on hamburger bread, and I have made it for my family all these years. What I do differently is I also add fresh garlic, parsley Parmesan cheese, an egg, and a piece of bread, dipped in milk and broken up. Make sure you spread the meat to the edges because it shrinks then I broil it but don’t put the rack on the first rung. Put it to the second one you broil about five minutes and then you put mustard and ketchup on it absolutely Delicious.

Instead of grinded meat sometimes we use also ham and cheese, or only cheese, or feta mixed with egg and we put first butter on the bread, like on your second recipe. When I was little my mom made a ground beef blend and put it on an open faced hamburger bun. It was similar to a meatloaf combo and then she’d broil it. We referred to it as party on a bun.

I love your flavors. You will get a better finished product if you caramelize the onions and cool them before adding them to raw ground beef. On the open faced sandwiches with the egg, I would lean into the American burger concept as an alternative flavor you could do. A but more ketchup some yellow mustard then finish directly out of the oven with finely diced raw onion or green onion. Kinda like the first one you could use sausage and add some pizza sauce for an amazing pizza take. Just some thoughts. I love the Caramelization on the crumbles fantastic job.

Instead of grinded meat sometimes we use also ham and cheese, or only cheese, or feta mixed with egg and we put first butter on the bread, like on your second recipe. I would fry the minced beef off first with diced onions, salt, black pepper and fresh chopped garlic. There's no chance of raw meat then. Great recipes. I will definitely give them a try. Thanks 👌 😊😊
Also try adding half a spoon of mustard when frying the beef off. The taste is amazing

When I was little my mom made a ground beef blend and put it on an open faced hamburger bun. It was similar to a meatloaf combo and then she’d broil it. We referred to it as party on a bun.

On sourdough and you have me! Add mushrooms, some ground spices, this is so good! I cut and rolled my bread with a rolling pin. I will never make another pizza crust after trying this. So very many different ways to dress it up. Ground turkey with white sauce and white cheese. Ah....thank you!!!

I love your flavors. You will get a better finished product if you caramelize the onions and cool them before adding them to raw ground beef. On the open faced sandwiches with the egg, I would lean into the American burger concept as an alternative flavor you could do. A but more ketchup some yellow mustard then finish directly out of the oven with finely diced raw onion or green onion. Kinda like the first one you could use sausage and add some pizza sauce for an amazing pizza take. Just some thoughts. I love the Caramelization on the crumbles fantastic job.
