Beautifully done. No unnecessary and distracting narration. Just letting the beautiful images speak for themselves, accompanied by an excellent well-chosen sound tract.
Loved it. ❤ Lived there in the 1990’s. Wow, you are a great photographer. Thanks for the memories you brought to mind this Christmas morning. Lovely gift. 👵🏻
My bro Richard lives in Gasquet and has been keeping me up on the weather down there, particularly in Crescent City. It’s wild! And that’s coming from someone who lives on the Olympic Peninsula! Great video!
So beautiful! I grew up near Monterey but I have never been one to walk the beaches but I like to park and watch the waves and these are awesome! I don’t have to out in the cold to see them, lol! Thank you so much for sharing!
I was on Mendocino Headlands mid-morning. There were monsters up to 30' and a stiff winds. I have lived here for 20 years and have never seen larger waves.
What an awesome Christmas gift! Thank you! I felt like I was flying over that jetty. Keep up the good work and beware of the storm coming Christmas night!
I talked to a pilot on a Crescent City beach by the airport right after a storm and he was saying he could see the driftwood coming out of the klamath river and a line of driftwood going north right onto our beaches. We get the powerful south winds, (so it's blowing from the south) during the storms and up to 60 mpg gust. Total victory at sea out there and not a time to be offshore on a boat.
The seafloor is very active lots of tremors lots of earthquake, and under Sea volcanic activity is creating a turbulent ocean along with high tide you get big waves, and unfortunately, the heating of the oceans is changing our weather making it more intense if you could see the graph the current Reading of the water temperature on earth in every place you would be amazed🤯
🌊🌊🌊🌊 It's been years since I've seen that much white water. The ocean was very angry, I hope there were no crab boats out. I thought you might loose a drone the waves were crashing so high. The jetty area was crazy and some of those rocks were hammered. WOW 😳 🌊🌊🌊🌊 Wonder where the seals were? Have a Merry Christmas hug Stoney ❤
I worked up at Crescent City for a few months in the winter of 1990 and would drive over to the beach after work and watch the waves crash over the rocks for hours until the sun went down or the fog rolled in, the surf is mesmerizing.
Did for yesterday there was so much wood that had not only washed up on the beach but across the road I’m not seen that before when I was down there the night before and it wasn’t like that
I love the lighthouse and would love to live there. I was in Crescent City in the 90's and tried fishing off the jetty. It felt weird being out there among the tetrapods and the strange sounds of the water. I also bought the book 'Dark Disaster' about the 1964 tsunami.
Great job! Always wondered why not even ice plant grew on Round Rock, now I know, lol. I suppose buoy 1 and 2 are going to be in a different location when this dies down. I think it was in Dec 2019 a 75 foot wave hit the Cape Mendocino buoy, Scripps OI says that was the record. Before radio buoys...I wonder if the old Lightkeepers on Pt St George would agree...since the light was broken by waves 150 feet above mean sea level in 1952.
@@gasquetmike8320 Be careful what we wish for, brother.... the museum records of the old Pt. St George light indicated several keepers were removed for 'mental breakdowns'. Merry Christmas Mike, thanks for your videos.

I wish you would have flew over south beach there, so we could see how the surf was during this big swell. Its just south of the south jetty of the harbor.
One of the most incredible places I've ever visited. Great film and great memories 👍🏻
Thank you John!
