  • This very special One Day Build is an international collaboration with the newest member of the Tested family! Simone Giertz is an amazing maker who builds mesmerizing robots. To build her latest machine, she chats with Adam from her home in Sweden to design a mechanism to deploy popcorn from a helmet. Adam builds some parts in the cave using his trusty vacuum-form machine!

    When Adam was prototyping, I could just see the years of experience and knowledge with everything he said and did. Simone doesn't have that yet but she does have the creativity and desire that will get her there some day.

    How to make an automatic popcorn feeding machine:
    Step 1: Screw a block of wood to your head.

    • @mjsimons9757
      @mjsimons9757 8 лет назад +16

      +Cristi Neagu I'm not really sure but I do't think screwing a block to a girls head is legal. IDK. I'm probably wrong.

    • @MostorAstrakan
      @MostorAstrakan 8 лет назад +27

      +Cristi Neagu It will stop the girl functioning, so she won't be able to chew the popcorn. So purely from a practical standpoint, screw attachment is a no-go. Maybe some kind of clamp? Some kind of nutcracker-like arrangement?

      +darkliberty it's when the snow melts almost completely but it's still not liquid. it's kind of like a 'snow slush' or something, but with dirty brown-ish snow instead. large parts of sweden have 'mild winters' which means that the temperature is around +2 to -7 celsius. whenever it snows it soon melts almost completely leaving slask. then it freezes and you suddenly have a 2-3 cm thick layer of ice on the roads

    • @GH0202

    I am always amazed how simple Adam's solutions are! I would have really over engineered this with gears and servos but this works perfectly, simple and quick! I guess that's years long working on strict time schedules for a TV show teaches you.

    That vacuum former! I kept rewinding and examining it. Looks like the frame is secured to the heater hood with magnets, and there is a key on one corner that activates the heater. Neat. I wanna build one!

      t Fun and learning! 😂 That's both of them, but especially Simone's whole thing. Starts stupid, but ends smart. From "Why would you need a popcorn feeding machine?" to "How could you NOT want a popcorn feeding machine?" to "Alright , how do we make that happen?" and ending with a finished product and perhaps a lesson to not put a lot metal parts on your head/neck 😂
