Just about anything can be repaired given enough time. Still have a bit to go before I'm happy with things. It was a solid hood overall and to find another would be a challenge...esp here in Ontario. Thanks for watching!
I learn something every time i watch you. I have a better idea on how to use my shrinking disc now. Watching you work on this hood looked like magic to me. LOL
Thanks!! I appreciate that. The disk is a more effective on bare metal. For this video I left the primer on as it made things easier for viewers to see.
Yeah, I had to go back and see you with that plannisher again. That's a brilliant tool. I've read about guys using a palm nailer with a carriage bolt hammering head for doing bodywork in tight places where a hammer couldn't swing. Perhaps sell plans for that little invention you have there, Nick? And great bodywork video as usual!
You undertake some serious projects. That old delivery was in BAD shape...someone really hacked it up. Thanks for another very good video. You by far are the best RUclipsr sharing some amazing fabrication skills. Look forward to every Friday night.
Another good one ... hood's lookin better ... too bad you have to cut the hole for the bird catcher in it ... shrinking disc is on my list ... which one do you recommend? ... still waitin on the '40 ...
To try out I made a shrinking disc out of a saucepan lid that had the same profile as a bought one, hardest bit was getting the hole exactly in the middle!
Hey Nick, I had missed this a couple of days ago. It popped up on my feed but I was really busy at work. BTW, have you ever seen John Kelly's videos? He uses a palm nailer to flare Karmann Ghia fenders. I have two (2) of his videos. "Tuck Shrinking" and "Custom Metal Bodywork". They're not too bad.
Hi Nick, nice work with the shrinking disc. Does the die grinder on your planisher simply act as a handle and air actuator? Nice little tool, good thinking.
Head of the die grinder was shot, but the handle with trigger still worked. Using the fitting that attached to the head I welded up a transition coupler to join the nailer and trigger handle together. Hope that helps explain. Thanks for watching!
@@iNVisionPrototypes oh okay so the grinder is essentially a long air fitting with a valve that isn't rotating. That makes more sense, great idea you came up with 👍
Nice!!! As always thank you for a great video!!!!
Always look forward to your videos. 👍
Most shops would have tossed the hood out 😂 it’s amazing that you could save it 👍😎

"I can't see through this metal because it's been painted" lol good one

Always learning new things watching your content! Keep up the good work and great explanations..
Thanks for supporting my channel!
You are a true metal smith Nick, well done!
Thank you, I try my best!
Really like that tool you made
It's not a miracle worker, but it helps once the metal has been brought in to where it needs to be. Thanks for watching!
I'd love to actually see you make that tool .
See what I can do when I get a few minutes. Thanks for watching :D
Beautiful and smooth..... Every episode reinforces the information and techniques from the last. Thanks Nick
It's close, bit more to go... but not too much further ;) Thanks for watching Joel!
Explanations and theory are great but seeing you do it brings it all together Thx.
Thanks for the support!
If you make that transparent metal too thin, even the untrained eye can see through it. Gret video Nick. It's fun watching you have fun.
LOL! 👍
Funny I just bought a palm mailer to experiment with. I would like to see more your one too. 😁
Hey Nick, always great content from your buddy. I can't wait to see this car finished.
Thanks 👍
Nice video mate. Definitely some great skill you have there.
Taught by your father as I was taught by mine. Looking forward to the next vid
Thanks 👍
Another top job and vid. As usual Nick.

Thanks for another great learning experience. Cheers 🇦🇺
You bet!!
Thumbs up, great stuff. I love my shrinking disc.

Hey Joe, Wray Schelin made this disk for me years ago. I look after it and it's still going strong!

That's great Rob! 👍👍

Nice informative video any more on dents repair please
Thanks, actually editing one this week. Stay tuned
Hi Nick, any plans on how you made the base of the plannisher?
Sorry, nothing on paper. Usually just scrounge up some parts from around the shop and slap it together, no pun intended.

You got it Fraser! Thanks for watching!!
How did you make that planishing tool? I don't understand how a die grinder would attach to a palm nailer like that
Head of the die grinder was shot, but the handle with trigger still worked. Using the fitting that attached to the head I welded up a transition coupler to join the nailer and trigger handle together. Hope that helps explain. Thanks for watching!
