      @@jimmielittle877 JD doesn't make public their service manuals or computer programs. Elizabeth Warren made a big deal over it.
      I can see why people are upset, since we do most repairs on our equipment. But it is their property and we make the decision to buy knowing that. They have to pay for their research and that is one way. However, their shop rates are horrendous. Right to repair has driven up the prices of older models the same as glider trucks in avoiding the horrors of DEF. All the other companies will do it too. JD just gets the publicity because they are the biggest and best.... so far.

      I agree there use to be Massey Ferguson dealer here in my area the last one closed up because Agco wanted them to upgrade their shop and they wanted $10,000. a year from ther dealer to sale the Massey Ferguson tractors. So Massey Ferguson had faded out from around here, until a Cat rental business started to sale Massey Ferguson tractors and equipment a few years ago. Now they are opening at a better location a Frent and Massey Ferguson dealership. Last year locally there were 13 John Deere customers that bought Massey Ferguson tractors. Up date 10/18/21 Agco selling Massey Ferguson tractors has opened up 3 new stores that I know of in my area . One is only 5 miles away . The other two are 30 miles away in opposite directions one west and one south east of my location. Not sure if they open any stores up north of me.

    We have a Massy 8670..great transmission with V.S. and top end of 33 mph which is nice for pulling light loads, make sure you stay in slow range for heavy pulls.we pull 16 row planter with it in the spring..the deff is also a added cost and pain..have to smile though while your comparing the MF to a JD 4640 cost wise as the interest on your money alone would hardly make up for the savings you mentioned..but you do have a very nice tractor that will get the job done..best of luck in your farming operation

    • @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754
      @jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754  3 года назад +2

      Thanks
      Hope yours is treated you well! I am very excited for next spring. I got this thing for a song and a dance compared to what they were going for on TractorHouse. It had a water leak under the hood the three-point didn't want to cooperate and the transmission wouldn't control very well in pedal mode. Then we're good negotiating points for me and when I got home I did a pedal calibration which took all of seven seconds that has worked beautiful oh, did a three point calibration that took 5 minutes and that now works great and the leak under the hood is where the radiator hose goes into the thermostat housing I suppose the inside of the house is getting a little crusty or the thermostat housing the paint itself is getting a little weird so I just kind of cleaned it a little bit and Peyton the hose clamp and hopefully it will seal.
      This spring before planting I will do transmission and hydraulic oil front and rear axles. I did engine oil fuel filters and air filter this weekend that is a pretty nice tractor for service Weis very easy.
      The service tech laughs because for the price I got it for I could do the engine the transmission and put row crop tires on it and still be money ahead from buying one on TractorHouse

      buy land or do custom work. but is that what you really want to do? i look at the people in Mn that are making a living off a small farm running small equipment, no combine and heads, no corn planter and all that equipment, just livestock and hay equipment. i will never give up the crops but next year i am moving half the farm out of row crops.

    My dad had serval tractor brands back in the 1950s Allis Chambers and Ford and Farmall. Then in the 1960's he switched to Massey Ferguson's and stayed with Massey's until 2006 when he retired. Till this day Massey is my favorite I have a 1990 3070 Massey Ferguson 92hp cab loader 2wd. And a IMT 539 which is identical to the 35 Massey Ferguson. I like many of the other brands I also own a 5320 John Deere cab loader. I love seeing the older classic tractors working no matter the brand. Today Massey has some of the best looking tractors on the market. I test drove a new 4710 handle like a dream with plenty of power. May consider getting one some day. Massey has always been a leader when it came to fuel efficiency even with the Perkins Diesel engine. I am amazed what fuel efficient my Massey's 4 cly Perkins 4.236ci 3.9L turbo gets the same fuel efficiency as my John Deere's 3 cly turbo and my Massey is a much bigger and heavier tractor. Enjoyed your video with all the technology that your Massey has you got a beautiful tractor.

    We can all be honest and say that we love the reliability of Japanese products. Honda is a prime example. Rock Solid and dependable with great service all around the country. Iseki is a Japanese company that has been around for a long long time. Massey engines and drivetrain transmission all manufactured by Iseki. Complete tractor actually I believe. Except for the tires. The attention to detail and the Innovations over the last 10 years have been A Step Above John Deere and other manufacturers in my opinion. The reliability is there and you can get parts all around the country. And nowadays it's very easily to get most things shipped directly to you if you can't go and pick it up yourself. I will be sticking with Massey. Great video and amazing capabilities on that tractor.

    • @mikewarren9850
      @mikewarren9850 Год назад +3

      It is true that Agco farmed out the manufacture of some small 3 and 4 cylinder tractors to Iseki, the larger tractors are built in France using engines built in Finland. The Finland engine plant was the Valmet plant, then was acquired by Sisu engines which was then acquired by Agco who has invested in newer technologies and quality, and grown the manufacturing capability. The CVT transmission was actually designed by Fendt of Germany, which was acquired by Agco. These transmissions and engines are by far more advanced, more fuel efficient and built to a higher quality then most of what Deere is building now. In the USA now, you will notice some slow spreading growth of Agco Massey Ferguson dealers, mainly because many farmers are realizing what these machines will do in the fields , realizing the increase of efficiencies, and at the same time receive better service, and competitive pricing on parts and equipment.

    I have always said you buy the dealer and take whatever he/she's selling, modern tractors are more or less all capable bar you get unlucky, they will all break down sooner or later so to have an excellent service is far more important than the colour of the machine, of course price is important we all live in the real world but the fact is most of them are in or around the same price give or take 5 percent so you buy the dealer.

      I agree about the 806. That Massey sure is nice, but where will it be in 50 years? Not knocking the Massey, but none of the modern tractors will hold up like the ones from the '60s and '70s, too much crap to go wrong and too expensive to fix when it does. That 806 will do just as much work in a day's time as a brand new tractor of comparable HP, you may sacrifice a little comfort, but you won't break down just because of some mystery fault code.
