In 1993 I was a junior in high school in E. Tx. My buddy Tad Pittman, had a 1993 cobra. It was bore 60 over and blue printed. With a Paxton Super Charger. One night, We had been Drinking, leaving Downtown Dallas on the way home. 15 minutes outside of Dallas a State Trooper..( 😳 ) Got behind us...My boy took a drag of his cigarette and threw out his beer, after downing it, and said " PUT your seat belt on ". Over a bridge that was crossing a lake..The bridge was 2.5 miles long..We hit 188 miles an hour. As the cop disappeared and he down shifted...I asked, " What were we movin' at ??" He replied, ( lighting a fresh Marlboro Light ) " 193" 🫡💯%

Back when low 14's in the qtr was fast as hell.
most people were still running around in their old carbureted, beat up, run down muscle cars running high 13 thinking they were bad ass.
then came a stock fox body Mustang that could run the quarter-mile off the showroom floor almost as fast as heavily modified old muscle cars. Requiring no tinkering or tuning or carb adjustments at night. Really woke up the performance world.
My brother-in-law bought a brand new 1988 Mustang GT convertible and race me and my friends in our old muscle cars. I had a 72 Nova and he would brag how he didn't have to make any carb adjustments or play with settings.
Now, a 5.0 makes 460hp stock and is 2 seconds faster in qtr mile stock.
Back in 1990 there was no aftermarket support for 5.0s really. Just exhaust, nitrous, and rear gears. Some crude underdriven pulleys and slicks.

I remember when the 93 Cobra was new on the lot for sale and every Foxbody guy would drive in daily and drool over it. It's funny how black was the number one color, red was number 2 and teal was a girl color that no one really wanted. My local dealer had one left over in teal and couldn't sell it for the longest time. Time changes everything. I have a black on black with a factory sunroof and that's my favorite combo. The 93 Cobra is the Mac Daddy of all Foxbodies. The Cobra used in this video is the epitome of the 93 Cobra. Great video guys hopefully you can do the 82 GT next. I have a burgundy one with black interior in mint all original condition you can use. Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming.

The 1993 cobra was closer to 250hp with the old hp rating from previous years. The only engine modifications the was made in 1993 by ford was the regular H.O. changed to hypereutectic pistons. I had a few friends that owned 93 cobras back in the 90s. I think they're very good looking cars. But was very disappointed SVT did not redo the interior. There's nothing that says hey I'm sitting in a Cobra when you're inside the car very disappointing. When I'm sitting in my fox Saleen I know I'm sitting in something special because Saleen redid the complete interior including the leather-wrapped Momo steering wheel.the Saleen gauges an flo fit seats with the net inside the head rest.an acustom shift knob.

That and I was gonna owe money on it. That’s what my old man never understood we only beat on cars we don’t have to have or don’t like not cars we love. The 1993 Cobra wheels have a specific design where the "blades" of the wheels slice towards the front of the vehicle when installed correctly. There are two left hand and to right hand wheels. i have a spec sheet ford motor co put out years ago telling all the differences, including fuel lines and brake lines, and not sure why you are obsessed with turbo coupe and super coupe, the rear end is from the older lincoln versaille, since it was wider almost as you stated when mention the thunderbird, they made the front rotors thicker, still not sure why you mention the thunderbird, might as well say the door locks or ignition switch would also be like any ford made during the era. i was also in the business for many years and i own a 26000 mile unmolested vibrant red with grey leather cobra. i'm always amazed when i see the aftermarket parts some of the owners of this car make while discarding a much better part.
