- We are in Alaska enjoying all the beauty. Today, we are visiting the Great Alaskan Bowl Company. They are one of the few remaining mills in the country and manufacture solid, one-piece Alaskan birch bowls. Watch to the end to see all the neat stuff.

Well....thank goodness looks are free ..so thank you for taking us along...so many amazing items... Champagne taste on a water budget here....My wish list is quite long .
My Mom had custom white birch cabinets made for our kitchen when I was little. They were beautiful. Very nice store. I will never get there but it was fun to look. Thanks for the adventure.
You're very welcome
I love this kind of stuff. I have a teeny little knot bowl in my kitchen that holds my cherry tomatoes, and I love it. Not, sure, where it's from, but it's awesome. 💚
That cribbage board was awesome.
Everything looks beautiful
What an awesome store! Thank you so much for taking us shopping with you!! ❤️ It was very neat watching him use the lathe.
Good afternoon, Madam Mayor and Brett. It's a good thing I'm not in that store in person. because I would end up broke. Lol. I love anything made out of wood.
Loved the knotty store
Beautiful wood work.😊
I have an Ulu, and it's the best cutting tool in my kitchen.
Good choice!
I picked up a mostly hollow 2 foot tall trunk of birch about halfway back from Alyeska. I tossed it in the pickup. We ended up putting a potted plant in it and setting in the living room. It was about 3 1/2 ft across and really rustic looking. We assumed it was from the forced/controlled avalanches next to the road when that massive tree was originally destroyed.
We got one of those planters that was left from the bowl, they gave us a coupon for a free one…lasted a year in florida. Wood rots fast in florida. The bowls are awesome! Thanks for bringing some memories back! Have fun!
VERY cool store - loved it!
Yes it was!

You and me both!
Good afternoon Brett and Madam Mayor! What a great place to visit. Thank you for taking us along.
Our pleasure!
Hello madam mayor an breet blessed day 🙏
Loved to see the sign that they plant trees for the bowls they make - and though there are some high prices - I would imagine it is because it such a tourist place. By this time of seeing this - I pray you have cleaned up your chains (tin foil on bottom of container big enough for item, hot water and a tablespoon or so of Baking Soda - leave in for a few minutes till the solution has stopped bubbling. Depending on what it looks like - you may have to do it again (the bubbling only lasts a little bit with the baking soda!). I would have had a very hard time not buying any of the bowls - or other items! SO very creative! Meant to ask if you have seen the aurora borealis there yet?!
Wow, they’re absolutely beautiful bowls, but I think my favorite is the planters.
Thank you, Madame Mayor. I think I see my Christmas shopping of American Made!
Looking up the website now!
Loved watching the live artisan at work!

🤣
And mine!! Think I need to marry a Billionaire!! 🤣🤣
we have a place in Springfield Mo called Walnut bowl's they make!
I'll have to check it out! I'm north of Spfd, MO. Do they do the work in store where you can watch them?
I'm not positive it's on senic street
My wife would spend WEEKS (and a hefty sum) in that store.
lol that would have been a butt warmer in my day might not hurt as bad as a switch that we even had to pick lol I learned the hard way thinking a small one wouldn't hurt as bad wrong I learned to get big ones after that!
Madam Mayor is finally getting to go bowling??
Not yet.
I really liked your intro of the worker on the lathe. You'll are getting better that really got our attention and we wanted to see the who, what, where and how. I also liked the highway scene with the title “Where are we going...” And, when you are driving some folks are going to critique how you drive. @ 2:13 it was good that you went out to look at the raw materials used in the making of the bowls. Suggestion about when in each of your videos, you show lots of flowers. You should explain to your viewers that in the summer time, the sun shines longer than in the lower 48 and thus Alaska has a longer growing time thus an abundance of flowers. I did nt know that until I went to Anchorage and they had the biggest hanging flower baskets on every light pole on the main street. Most of your viewers think Alaska is cold with snow and ice most of the time, because they do not know that daytime is longer in the summer. All in all, you'll are getting better at travel log videos
Maybe they would have been able to recreate Jeremy 's fist....finger!?
The question i have... Did you buy some goodies? 😁😂💗
I am thinking about getting an RV and traveling, so enjoy your videos
It's very freeing. Wherever you are is your home.
AHOYA HOWDY
Fairbanks
Did you have a chance to go visit Santa Town 🎉 it's my dream place to live one day 😊 Santa mayor 💖lol soon as I was typing this Your hubby said key word North Pole 😂 madam mayor you will love it there
I did!
I have a friend that makes things out of All types of wood….
Wonder if Ellie from the woodshop in OC could make those bowls?
Good question
I JUST WISH THOSE GIFTS WERENT ALL THAT EXPENSIVE. THEY COULD SELL BETTER IF IT WAS ALL UNDER 20.00 TO 1.00 YOU COULD OF HAD BOUGHT ABOUT FIVE BAGGS OF GOODY S ENCLUDING THE TRAIN SET FOR TRAVIS TUBE TOWN.. EVEN HAD A WOODEN DESIGN MADE FOR TUBE TOWN OTTER CREEK. FUN TO SEE.. WHOW THOSE WERE THE BEST GIFT SHOP FOR HOME MADE USA.
Nope it’s where they make the Bowls!
Alot of stuff but spencive.
I am curious have y'all moved to Alaska full time now? As all always videos all summer have been from Alaska or in Otter Creek for meetings
Realize when a video is released doesn't mean we're right there at that moment. They get videod, edited then released on a schedule.
