So awesome! Looks like alot of fun! I love watching these videos and it’s made me want to get into fpv! I have no idea where to begin so I just got a emaxx tiny hawk to get started! I hope it’s fun! Cool video I subscribed! Take care! Happy holidays
Holy fuck... what an amazing image. I'm happy, Runcam finally realized we want good cams and would actually also pay for image quality with HDZero. I mean hey, currently we pay a ton of money for DJI video, so... crank them up! And is that a race in a beer brewery? Love it!
Very compelling! I really want to pull the trigger on HDZero but unfortunately where I am (China) availability is patchy and the price is substantially higher than DJI (which I probably won’t buy because everything I fly is sub 250, with most of my fleet being whoops, tiny toothpicks, etc.) This is incredibly tempting though. Fantastic video as always, thank you!
@@wrongbirthday2 Probably- I'm not sure- but I think it's made for the export market. It doesn't seem to be widely marketed in China anyway. I want it even more after watching Wezley Vardey's range test of the 1watt freestyle VTX, where he got out 30km and didn't reach the limits of flyability with a couple of big patch antennas ;-(
Thank you so much for this video Nate. Now I guess I have to run HDZero and DJI 😅 Unfortunately DJI doesn't seem to be working on a smaller VTX, which makes it kinda hard to make a well performing whoop for indoor use.
I assume you're talking about the blue Emax Avan props on my 2S whoop. Those tiny wing tips are actually a part of the design of the prop, but yes, they have probably also seen some abuse.
The ring gates are DIY. The bases are made of PVC. The rings are made of PEX, which is more flexible than PVC. The LED strip shines through the PEX tubing. Hope that helps. :-)
You should be able to access the OSD menu for the cam, but I don’t think image flip is one of the options. The first Runcam Nano HD had that feature, but I don’t think this one does.
@@MrShutterBug Hi. Thanks for answering me. In the osd cam menu is that option but you can't change ( is written in their HV Flip -not supported) . But I don't understand why...don't have that further. Anyway thanks again.
Yes I am. I don't think it is optimal, but I haven't had time to fine tune it further. My favorite tune was actually the one for Betaflight 3.5.7. It should be possible to do even better with today's BF features, but it just takes time.
I’ve never really pushed the range. It has been enough for my needs. In a drone this size, battery power is usually the limiting factor as long as you have a good radio link.
With a cube antenna a theoretical range for ELRS is around 3km given a perfect line of sight, and if you set the VTX to 200mW and equip it with a good antenna you will likely get about the same range, maybe even more, for the video too (again, given the LoS). But, as Mr Shutterbug said, the batteries on these don't have enough capacity to even reach the edge of the range, let alone make a return trip
curious are the races you go to limiting to 31mm props as well? I bought sharkbyte RX when it was cheap but need new googles and waiting to see what comes out in 2022.
Yes, 31mm props are spec. We do allow people to use the new Meteor65 Pro frame, but not the larger 35mm props. Some people choose to use that new frame just because it gives more clearance around the props which makes it less likely for the props to stop in a crash. I haven't tried that new frame yet for myself, but I have some coming soon.
It is very different. The Tarsier has analog FPV. This HDZero cam has much better FPV quality. But the Tarsier also records HD to a MicroSD card, which HDZero does not.
Looks great, the image is really amazing. Two questions about Shutterbug85: - Do you have any issue with these Emax avan props? I have set of transparent ones and break easily in the center after some crashes, not so hard ones - The canopy, do you print it with support?
I've had good success with the Avan props. They do not break often for me because the whoop frame takes most of the hit. Yes, print the canopy right side up with supports.
Hey Nate, Looks awesome 👌. Im kinda all in on DJI naked Vista at the moment. Just got the polar nano and nebula pro nano. Can you tell me if you have tested the new betafpv 1~2S 12a elrs AIO flight controller? Is it any good? I like the fact, that it handles 1s with high current ESCs. Perfect for a 1s TP build
I'm excited about the Nebula Pro Nano too! I plan to use one to upgrade my "Digitooth" build. :-) Yes I have used the Betafpv 12A ELRS FC. I have not had any problems with it so far. It could definitely power a 1S toothpick, but only if you plan to use lipo batteries. If you want to try Li-Ion batteries (for 1S long range), then you will need a different FC that can run on lower input voltage.
Now the lens is bigger than the camera!! 👍👍👍
thanks brother!!!!!!!!!!! I love HDZero and am testing out several different cams and vtx and am so excited !!!! Thanks for another great video
your videos always have great info and this one is just as good thank you for sharing your know how and your passion with us .
The results are very satisfying and good, thank you for sharing the information🥰🙏🤩
Great job on the video Nate may you and your family have a HAPPY HOILDAY!
Thanks Mr. S! This looks great! The clarity of those little Christmas wires really sold me. I may have to go Sharkbyte next Spring.
That's a great looking camera. Looking forward to getting Shark Byte.
Nice Video, thanks for the review. I’m switching all my Analog quads to HDZero for 2022
I'll still be flying analog for my lightest builds and 1S whoops, but HDZero is quite enjoyable. I expect I'll be flying both for some time.
@@MrShutterBug hdzero will soon drop the whoop vtx for 1s, no point staying analog 😉
@@pascalgermanfpv238 I know. I used HDZ 1S at a race on Sunday. It’s awesome, but analog will still have a meaningful weight advantage.
Looking good. Glad to see the tech is still getting better. Been out of the game for a bit over a year now but still have all my gear.
Never heard of this tech but I love the look of it. Amazing quality.
Very cool camera and your tracks are amazing , Great informative vid, Thanks for sharing
Another really cool video with awesome flight footage at cool venues! I'm jealous. Keep it up
That looks really good for 25mw very nice
A very hands on comparison between HDzero and Analogue video... makes me want to switch this out on my precious tinyhawk2 🙂

Awesome little camera. Thanks for the comparison. Would be good to see the specs of the 65mm race whoop and your configs on quicksilver

Thanks Nate. I just ordered mine right now ( and using your affiliate link, of course :-) ).
Love it!

Care to share the STL for the canopy @6:30?

I have an a75 hd and thats as small as I'd like to go with dji. Thing flies like a mini tank. And of course it's 3s so not quite a tiny whoop
I'm pretty happy with my 75mm naked Vista whoop. It's 35g now with Nebula Pro Nano ruclips.net/video/1SEYFyuFEPY/видео.html

Nope

100usd this cam oh oh.... dont crash on the glass
Yeah, crashes could be costly but not $100 USD. The camera is around $45.
