I was asleep in my tent early one morning just after dawn at a campground in Bangor, Maine. The campground was not far from the end of the Bangor airport runway. Two of these buggers did a full AB tandem take-off. I thought the world was coming to an end and I'm an airline mechanic that's been working around jets for three decades.
What I find amazing is the lack of any other forms of on the ground braking except for the wheel brakes, which get an absolute hammering. Wheels locking up, overheated brake rotors must be rife. Not even a parachute!
Cracking video. I love the close ups

I think you’ll find that 747s, 777s and A350s also have no parachute when braking. Brake systems have evolved significantly since the 60ies…
Pretty amazing how the brakes hold back all that thrust on the power up
Increíble 👏 en el
3:30 be honest he just wanted to have another go 😜
Brucey
That was a deafening silence, if you know what I mean…
