I'm really enjoying you reaction/analysis/breakdowns. as a beginner guitarist for decades lol it was Kanami that inspired me to buy a new electric guitar and try again. I still suck but take a lot more joy trying to play Band-Maid. I have so much respect for Kanami as a guitarist and song writer, I place her as the best to come along in many many years. the future of rock music is once again very exciting for me. cheers
Thanks for the reaction and comments. There's nothing simple about Kanami's compositions. if there's a constant, it's that the dynamics of the songs are constantly changing...making them predictably unpredictable; keeping the listener engaged for the entirety of the song. Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things. Cheers!
Kanami is tuned down a half step to Eb in this one. I’m a guitarist as well and I can testify that Kanami’s riffs are always catchy and often sound much easier than they actually are. “DICE” is one of them. There’s no way to accurately pull this opening riff by ear easily. This ain’t “Walk This Way” 😂 You’re going to be rewarded by studying her stuff. Notice how she always varies the second verses. And how she’ll let Miku rock the power chords while she likes to slide in and out of octaves on top. There is nothing simple about Band Maid music. It’s catchy enough for casual fans, but progressive and complex enough for TOOL and Dream Theater fans. Keep on the Maid train. There’s nothing but great music and fun ahead.
GR , Kanami has various notes and licks and riffs and she uses a Custom 24 PRS signature guitar On this track her gain is perfectly generously used what a genius Kanamincho Tono really is my Obi-wan Jedi, yes D scale
Again, the woman singing backup is not Kanami (long hair in bonnet with PRS), but Miku (pigtails and mother of pearl tiled Zemaitis), the rhythm guitarist. She's a little low in the mix, but you can hear her. Their voices mix extremely well, so sometimes the backup vocals sound like an effect.
In 2020 Kanami did a demo video of several cudtom PRS guitars. She starts the CORE 24 demo by playing the intro and riff to DICE (about 3:45) on the video :) ruclips.net/video/E8dk0oQ6dKg/видео.htmlsi=1RMyihr5KB6gahOg

Band-Maid has a way of inspiring people to pick up their instruments and play, even if they haven't played in years. It is just the way of the Maid.
"The Way of the Maid". 🤔What a cool phrase for a t-shirt idea.😏

interesting... they sound better live to me;p
Kanami uses pentatonic a lot because her guitar hero, Carlos Santana, plays pentatonic often and she thinks it sounds very pleasant.
