In the war, there used to be thousands of ocean fires. Ships would leak oil, oil rises to the top and can catch on fire. Idk if this is oil, but it could be, idk.

Actually, dynamite would be the best fire extinguisher in this case.
Liquid nitrogen*. Also they light it up after realizing there was a leak. The reason to light it off was so the gas burns off instead of causing damage to living organisms, and so they can have a clear picture where the gas was. Having a clear picture so they can accurately throw liquid nitrogen so it doesn’t spread and till all the gas has been burned off.

I swam in a body of water that was fed by the gulf in like 2017 or so and I was like, hey, this really smells like gas. There had been no reported pipeline leaks, turns out, you don't need to report them if they're under a certain amount. There had been one recently and it really really shows. It hurts to imagine this happens more regularly than you could ever realistically imagine, and this is the more extreme sort of event that would come from those issues..

(More Gas/volume = Less Liquid/volume)
So even after the fire was out any boat wandering into that "bubble region" would likely sink at the sudden reduction in buoyant force.

The purpose of putting water on the fire is to cool the natural gas that is coming from the bottom of the sea. if it cools, the flame will stop. The ocean water around the fire is being pushed away by the force of the gas as it rises. So, the boats must spray water from above. What we are seeing is a big gas bubble from below that was ignited at the surface, where there is sufficient oxygen to let the gas burn. Normally the bubbling gas would just float into the air, but it was ignited by mistake.

That red ship is actually too close to the fire.
What's happening is the natural gas is bubbling up to the surface and igniting. That bubbling of the gas under the water lessens the density of the water, making it super easy to sink a ship that wanders too close. You can see where the density of the water is less from the coloration.
Fun fact: this is the same phenomenon that happens to unsuspecting ships in the Bermuda Triangle; minus the cool fire, though.

@@rotek19sbek73 I definitely prefer sausage. My preferred option is sausage cooked with peppers & onions, but it’s always good mixed with a tomato sauce & penne pasta as well. Ironically, I had elotes on the 4th, but no weenies or anything like that. As for my wife, she does like trying the different ways I prepare sausages, but there’s no chance she has any interest in your little burnt chorizo. No need to go to a 2-star taco truck when your husband runs the meat market. I’ll let her know your concern, though.

More like not enough police to hold the line, allowing for such things to happen in the first place, especially in such a significant place like Capitol. No one there trained or had some sort of plan to break in, couple of fools started crossing and the mob follows. And yes, it is hilarious because you make it out to be some sort of deadly terrorist attack by boogeyman Trump supporters lmao.
