menora isn't the same as khanukiya, we light the khanukiya, the menora is what was in beyt hamikdash and also the symbol of state of Israel and it has 7 equal hight candles while khanukiya has 8 candles and one shamash which is a candle located higher than others and used to light all the 8 holiday candles. khanukiya has 8 candles oposed to the 7 of the menora to commemorate "nes pakh ha shemen" the miracle of the jug with oil that lasted 8 days
Why are you guys spelling it chanukah instead of hanukkah?? Even if you want to use the kh sound, why not write khanukah not ch like chair chanukah?? Srsly, what's up with that?

There is no wrong way because it is just transliterting the hebrew. The first letter in hebrew is a sound that can't be perfectly replicated with the english alphabet so you see people spelling it multiple ways for that reason.

because its not the 'english' name its just the word transliterated into roman letters. its used in german, french, italian etc
