Great video 💪🏻 I've been training for almost a year. The things I've found most beneficial from training BJJ are the improvement in my mental health, stamina, much stronger legs and increased range of movement. Got training tonight and I can't wait!
This is a fairly deep topic. BJJ *can* be a different type of exercise to get healthier, but it's also a trap. A person can start jiu jitsu to learn a new sport, maybe lose some pounds, self defense, etc. It starts off not being fun, just getting smashed and choked by literally everyone else. Eventually you learn a bit more, get smashed and choked less, start doing some smashing of your own, and by that time you're hopelessly hooked into the jiujiteiro lifestyle. All you'll think about is improving your game which entails things like getting better sleep, having a better diet, and training more. So when I say it's a trap, it's really the trap of a positive feedback loop. I'd say more, but you catch my drift. If you're watching this vid and on the fence about trying it, I wish I started this journey at a younger age. It's not without aches and pains, but I'm in the best shape of my life and look forward to it every day. OSS 🤙
Im a white belt , 50 year old. I train 2 x weekly and ive noticed my diet has improved. Less bread and pasta. More veg,eat and coffee....i feel better.
Hi just started over 40. 1 month white belt. Really like classes. Wish started 10-15 years ago. Need to work cardio. Should stay with BJJ only . Or run 2x week. And is kettlebell enough or need alot weight training. Also what should I eat day of class. Is fruits enough. Or get protein bar? Thanks for help.
What exercise benefits have you received from training Jiu-Jitsu?
my mental health has seen the biggest gains of all. But physically I am in the best shape of my life now too

Not only practice jiujitsu but also added up with cardio exercise, lift weights, and strength base work outs.
