Everyone who disliked this... Don't knock this till you try it. Spawn in on a trivial mission, complete the objective so you don't lose us progress and then you have 15 lives for you and your mates to try to kill eachother with. Some things I recommend people try using are the Riot Shield, the Minefield, the Airburst and the Shield Generator. Me and my mates also banned using things that were abit too overpowered like the Breaker shotgun or the Personal Shield Pack, but it can be fun to experiment with house rules and come up with a PvP ruleset you think makes the best PvP experience. At the end of the day it's a harmless bit of fun with your mates that I promise you'll all really enjoy. I found myself using a lot of the strategies I've never even thought to use in PvE doing this just to see my friends reactions to getting killed by it. (PS. Don't forget to turn off the player numbers on the HUD so you cant see exactly where your friends are for even more fun.)

This concept is so underrated. There’s a lot to consider because of the complex mechanics of Helldivers. The aim lag, bugs attracting to sounds, opponent’s load-outs. It’s not just whoever has the best weapon, but how you use them that makes them most effective. Of course it’s a bad idea to implement officially, but I can definitely see a niche community forming around this. I think you just have to add a disclaimer at the beginning of the video. Mainly to prepare those who take it too seriously that it’s just for fun.
My suggestion is don’t deploy anything. Let the pvpers throw down their own stratagems. It will reveal their location, but if they survive, they gain a huge advantage against the opponent. This introduce more strategic play into the minigame
im surprised too dude! i'm a huge helldivers fan.. have been for 10+ years.. but im also a fan of killing my mates in games. Who the hell isnt? lol pretty much every play session of any shooter with my friends at some point devolves into us standing around murdering each other haha.. so uh, why not set up a dm arena?! :D

It's crazy that people will tell others how to enjoy a videogame 🤦 I think this community project is awesome, this could even make it into the lore as an illegal sport for hyper competitive divers that resolve their claims for higher skill with their guns which would fit PERFECTLY. The devs don't need to change anything and no uninvolved player has any disadvantage. 10/10 Keep experimenting with the game, this will keep it fresh 💪

kill bugs mission after mission no bug spawn its good for pvp . our map glitched the plane didnt come so we fought each other to pass the time it appears i was stronger :)
I'm personally not interested in a PvP mode for this game, but it would be cool to have an "offline" mode separate from the galaxtic war for those that want to do PvP. Mods could make the base game pretty interesting for people doing PvP across an entire map or something like that.
Does this count negatively towards planet progress? Looks fun but if everyone starts doing this won't planets be lost as people enter and exit planets without completing the mission?
nope. abandoning missions doesnt affect progress on that planet at all. also u can easily just go finish the mission n extract when ur done. its a trivial mission so it takes 5 min to finish
I agree official PvP has no place in Helldivers2, but player made lobbies and party games is not a problem whatsoever... More so cuz of the nature of the game, not being so serious which in turn compounded w/ lack of competitive pressures makes for entertaining stuff.. XD
In a controlled environment (private party, friends only, non-public) Then should be fine. Though I would probably not find it fun since its relatively simple to teamkill (if thats your true goal as per this pvp). Aim has zero spread only recoil, with proper aim and a strong enough primary weapon, you can one to two shot most helldivers. But this can NEVER be in a open public game. 1) CEO already mentioned *this* game will *not* have PVP 2) Unless a spinoff game, (1) will prevent this from being possible in *this* game 3) It breaks the current ideology of the game (you fight with democracy against OTHERS for super earth, aka supremist ideology), so citizen should share everything. and never fight each other, the govt is always right. UNLESS point (2) of a separate game with a "wargame training" logic [still doesn't fit as well due to you vs bots/bugs and not other humans]
that's exactly why we didnt allow any primary weapons in this - would be way too easy. yep would never do it in a public game. its just a bit of fun for a video!
That's why those discussions about PvP goes out of hand, there's too much toxicity on both sides... Guys are just having fun, not advocating for anything, if you don't like it just dismiss it, much like you're not obliged to play a exclusively PvP or PvE game... And keep in mind I'm completely against official PvP being added to Helldivers2... But just be a little bit more open minded, might serve you well in life..
Not every game needs to be PVP. Please don't try to perpetuate this idea that the devs have very clearly stipulated will never happen. So many PVP games exist already, just let this one be what it is. A wonderful PVE co-op experience that brings people together.

Personally I found this video to be fun and creatively adapted to a non-PVP environment. The amount of pure sweatiness and gatekeeping is out of control. My buddy and I were having a brawl using only melee attacks to see who could knock each other down the most. The winner got to board the ship and the loser had to face being left behind unable to extract!
I fail to see where in this anyone is trying to promote the addition of PvP to the game.. I only see a couple of peeps having some laid back fun and a chad making a funny vid about it (good one BTW, you're welcome you tool lol)... Folks need to chill a bit... Keep in mind I'm totally against PvP being officially added to this game...
