For U.S. folks, "corn flour" is "corn starch" and we don't have "double cream" but our "heavy whipping cream" is close enough. Looks FABULOUS, Cheryl! :)
@@buckwheathikes1261 We also have Chicken Pie that contains carrots and peas , you Heathens learned that from the UK. 😉🤣But this isn't a Chicken pie recipe it's a pastry or pasty.
Just found your channel today. My wife is from Glasgow, and she heard your voice and asked what I was watching. Just knocked up 3 individual ones of this with the same ingredients and they are absolutely TOP DRAWER! Looks like a steak pie for New Year's lol
Hi Cheryl hope you and yours are well……….love your videos so much keep on churning them out………..I am the one that lived in st Vincent street my hubby was the caretaker in the office block…….moved on from there to Bellahouston near the park …..knew you worked in town………….I work in Sandyford place at this moment in time is horrendous as the world cycling race is taking place in town for the next two weeks so getting in to and from work is a complete nightmare with most roads closed………..keep them coming love watching them…..❤🥰
I made this about a year ago, and loved it, better than Greggs IMO. I recently made it again and gave some to my elderly neighbour who loved it so much she asked for another if I had one. I made another just for her. I’ve subscribed to your great channel ;o)
I made this today and my roommate and house cleaner went completely Gaga over it! It was so good! I did it exactly as you made it and just added some chopped parsley for color! Thank you for another delicious recipe! So easy to make and outstanding! Gonna try meat pies next! Just got my small baking pans from Amazon! Ta!
This is delicious Cheryl, we thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so that I adapted the filling tonight and used pork tenderloin fillet. I served it with a mushroom rice and it was so tasty. 😋
This is very similar to a favorite hand pie recipe I enjoy in the fall. I'll have to add some cream cheese in place of the creamy brie next time I put it all together and see how it goes.
Oh yes, I've been awaiting this one Cheryl! It looks lovely and simple when using ready prepared puff pastry and I do agree that Aldi's and Lidl's are the most superior and lightest. I can hardly wait to have a go at this. I do like Greggs pasties, but I do also like to know exactly what meat is going into my pies, so this is all good! Thank you!
Hi Cheryl! I need to try this recipe, looks so yummy!! All your recipes I have made have been a hit. It reminds me of the beefy bake episode from Still Game. 😂 Julie B. got me addicted to that show. It is hysterical!
They look delicious Cheryl. I must admit I've never had a chicken bake from Greggs but will definitely give these a go. I made your greggs cheese & onion pasties a few weeks ago & they were really nice. So this is another recipe to add onto meal plan for the next few weeks. Your recipes never dissolving Cheryl, always turn out well.& are delicious
Looks good one to try, i do the same with a corned beef potato cheese and onion mix, it easy and works well, use cooked potato , or even a tin of potatoes diced and a little gravy works well in it.
Looks great but I'll have to add chicken gravy instead of that glorious white sauce, hubby hates anything in a creamy sauce. Thank you for sharing Cheryl xxx
Cheryl, just a suggestion honestly, not a criticism at all. LOVE the channel. Buy whole chicken breasts and poach them like you do in Meals Of The Week. Then make the sauce with stock & cornflour and stir in the chopped breast. Cheaper than buying the chicken fillets. And you don't need to worry about the breast being slightly under done. It'll finish cooking in the pastry parcel, which goes in the oven way above the temperature that any nasties can survive. With love.
We have Gregg’s here in England as well - it’s not just a Caledonian thing! Some of their food is quite nice! Here in Taunton, we have two Gregg’s shops!
We have a Taunton here on the east coast US, but no Greg's 😢. Our Gregg's is a family restaurant chain, local, known for their desserts and free pickle slices on the table while you wait for your food. But a local British couple who own a café have seen their sausage rolls become so popular that they're selling them frozen at a local supermarket. They're fabulous! There's an Aussie dairy bar that has them as well, but they're not as good
@@LindaC616 Massachusetts? That’s what you get if you take all of the false teeth in America and pile them up in Boston - a mass of chew sets - Massachusetts!
Thanks so much, that really does look lovely and delicious. I've got some chicken in the freezer and I think I'm going to have to make it. Just need the puff pastry and a few potatoes. It may go perfectly with the episode or two of Midsomer 😊
Hi Cheryl 👋, been looking forward to getting this recipe & watching you demonstrate how it’s made. Looks absolutely delicious & will definitely have a go at making this, though will have to make individual sized & freeze the others. I’m assuming these will freeze ok, but should I freeze before or after cooking the pastry,🤔 what do you think Cheryl? Many thanks as always & enjoy the rest of your week. xx👩🏻🍳💕💞🩷
@davidmurphy816 usually she does! A local cafe owned by a British couple has started to sell theirs frozen in a local supermarket, because they're so popular. And they do require being cooked in the oven for about 35 minutes.
@davidmurphy816 Hi David...absolutely you could freeze individual pies! freeze them before cooking, then just cook them from frozen 🙂 They will take longer to cook from frozen though....just keep an eye on them 🤩
Hello Missus , you may know the answer to this poser , but what do you think the coating is to the new Greggs Katsu chicken curry bake is ? Please help me .
Looks good! I am from the US. I noticed with oven temperatures the term "gas mark" this term isn't used here. What does it mean? I have seen it on other videos. Im interested in vintage appliance and have hear of both the Rayburn and AGA cookers. Stoves/ranges here. Thanks This is where I first heard of gas mark.
Hi there. If you have a gas cooker/oven the UK, you will use 'gas mark' rather than actual temperatures....my gas cooker goes from 1 to 8 🙂 most things will get cooked on gas 6 or 7, that's the equivalent to 200-220c or 400-425f 👍
I like the look of this, however watching the video. I personally wouldn't have cooked the chicken right the way through or for so long, they only small chunks so would have dried out in that pan then after that they went into the oven, so just a quick 2-3 mins on high to give it a bit of colour in the pan before the over would have done. Other than that looks good
Good evening everyone and thanks for popping over for this weeks recipe video....this is such a good recipe! Please do give it a go 😋
Thank you for doing this recipe! I appreciate you taking the feedback. This looks amazing for a tea with maybe some chips or potatoes. Yumm!
