- Kahului Airport (ICAO: PHOG) is an airport in the state of Hawaii, United States, located east of Kahului in Maui County on the island of Maui. It has offered full airport operations since 1952. Most flights into Kahului Airport originate from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu; the Honolulu-Kahului corridor is one of the heaviest-trafficked air routes in the US, ranking 13th in 2004 with 1,632,000 passengers. The IATA airport code OGG pays homage to aviation pioneer Bertram J. "Jimmy" Hogg, a Kauai native and aviation pioneer who worked for what is now Hawaiian Airlines flying aircraft ranging from eight-passenger Sikorsky S-38 amphibians to Douglas DC-3s and DC-9s into the late 1960s. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017-2021, in which it is categorized as a medium-hub primary commercial service facility.

As a former Maui resident of 25 years living in the Valley Isle, I can attest this is not a bad representation of PHOG. Even the inside is very close. I’m still not used to the green rooftops, it was red most of my time there.
Nice to have Maui shown some TLC as the default airport was pretty bad. I do hope some more work will be done around the islands. I can assure Asobo that the ocean is not a millpond, and that snow is _not_ present, ever, on the West Mauis as I’ve seen. This gave me a good chuckle. In 25+ years, I only saw snow on the summit of Haleakala (10k+ feet) a handful of times.
But aside from those issues and the Isle being a tad too green, this brings Maui a tad closer to feeling more authentic.

Everything superb, hi-res ultra detailed interiors, check-in desks, and halls; all the usual fps killer abundant details yet default dull runways which some of us sim flyers use the most as an airport. I cannot see why.
I don't know why developers bothers making interiors. I rather them focus on runways and surrounding

@northernskystudio How do we get rid of the two static aircraft at PHMU?
I don't understand how these planes bother you? They do not occupy parking lots and give liveliness to an empty airport.
@@olegshevchenko6109 It’s a bit of an immersion killer when GSX vehicles drive through them on the apron to get to my aircraft.

@@olegshevchenko6109 Just having the option (or knowing what files we can remove) would be fine. I appreciate some folks want the statics (& I agree they populate a sparse airport but GSX just spoils the effect!)
@@CitizenChazIt's not possible to edit the scenery. But it can be optional I suppose. But I need to find out how to implement it.
