St. Augustine's Altar Guild Folding Purificator, Lavabo Towel, and Corporal

Please wash the linens, remove them from the washer, and then iron. If you do not have time to iron immediately from the washer, place them in a plastic bag and put in the fridge.
The video will show you how to fold linens after they are ironed.

I have a corporal with two crosses embroidered on it. How is that folded?

Purificators are generally not square. They are rectangular, ironed WITHOUT starch, and folded in the manner you demonstrate here as for a "lavabo towel." The Corporal should be starched as you fold and iron it. The starch and more pronounced folds will help to hold particles of Our Precious Lord in place if they fall upon the Corporal and they also make folding/unfolding MUCH easier. I am not a Liturgist, but am blessed to be learning from some of the best in the world. Please... Ask a Liturgist to review with you the proper care of the sacred altar linens. It's clear that you have a beautiful heart for wanting to serve Our Lord well in this way. This is an older video, so perhaps you've already learned more, but if not, I encourage you with all my heart. Thank you for all you do for Our Lord. ❤

Incorrect information! Purificators are folded lengthwise,
NOT INTO A SQUARE, like a corporal.
Please check your information before you make videos!
This is extremely important!

This video shows the purificator being folded lengthwise (in 3rds rather than in half). We simply fold again into 3rds so that they will sit on top of the chalice with a nice drape (it also makes it easier to store clean purificator linens in the drawer). Thank you for your comment. We are just a small Altar Guild hoping to make things easier for our members to be consistent in folding techniques.
