  • What role does a sacristan play in the celebration of a mass? This video shows the process of what a sacristan does to prepare the mass to be celebrated.
Catholic University of America - St. Vincent de Paul Chapel - Washington, D.C.
St. Vincent's is the "official" chapel of the University. Built in 1949 and renovated and re-dedicated in 1992, the chapel seats just over 300 adults with the use of the balcony.
This video was shot for a class project - MDIA 312 Project - Process Video 10/3/16
Shot, edited, & produced by Jimmy Cassidy - / jimmy-cassidy

Praise the Lord! The video doesn't show that the Sacriston has to remain in church & attend all the masses & liturgical activities& be alert to the needs of the priest.

Why he was looking to tabernacle and why he was getting Sanctissimum? Only priest can do it.

Not true, the priests have me do many times over 8 years.

But it's look like the tabernacle is off to one side, not good at all, if true.

Ah Pawel, you are clearly a Polish Catholic. You would be taught that only the consecrated hands may touch the consecrated species. In the post-Conciliar church, that is no longer true. Any Tom, Dick or Harry can approach the Sanctissimum and handle it in any way they like: your wife, your daughter or son. Your doctor, dustman or street-sweeper. No one wants to be a priest in the post-VII church ... and who can blame them, when centuries of teaching and tradition have been thrown out with the bathwater? Non est hic. Christ is not in these churches or tabernacles, have no fear.
