Marc, good stuff. Not to be “that” guy, but there’s a lot of gear noise in that motor. I’ll be interested to see how it sounds when in the water. We try to get our trolling motors as quiet as possible. Has there been any footage of the system under the water?

It is a good question, and I will know more when I use it on the water soon. I can say that my GoPro camera makes the motor sound much louder than it actually does in person. I have noticed this in my other videos as well, that certain noises (like string trimmers and leaf blowers) sound like they are in my boat when I am 1000 feet away. It actually sounds quieter than all the other turrets I have fished with. Also the motor is well above the waterline, and noises above water do not travel below water unless they are low frequency. I require stealth in my fishing for smallmouth bass, especially in water as clear as I fish. If it spooks fish at all I will find out, but I doubt that will be the case. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Mark has already covered most of it and for sure microphones tend to magnify when there is little to no background noise.
Our testers have not mentioned motor noise one time as an issue. Stan Stone has a video of his Garmin Force RS One on his youtube channel - "Stan Stone Fishing" that you can watch and listen for the motor.

@@marcmarcantonio thanks Marc, I always enjoy your content. Quick question I have a new boat with a hydraulic jackplate. The transducer is mounted on the starboard side of jp & while looking at side scan I get vertical lines on port side scan. The deeper I go the more vertical lines. I was told a hole shot plate would most likely cure this?

@@corbinwadlow2044 Yes, a hole shot plate will fix your problem. The lines are from your SideScan signal bouncing between the insides of the jackplate. A holeshot plate prevents the signal from getting inside your jackplate where it bounces around. A side benefit of the holeshot plate is that you get less prop wash when shutting down, and a slightly better hole shot when getting on plane.
