I never liked the new remake versions of Sound Of Silence, I always felt this was one of those songs you don't mess with. But man...your voice!!! For the first time in many years all of the voices in my head were quiet, all of the confusion stopped, and I wept, bitter tears of rage and pain, followed by those of acceptance and peace. I cannot express how grateful I am for these 4 minutes of peace you have given me. You have saved a life today, and from the depths of my soul I thank you.
I listen to Yanni to clear out the confusion and clutter in my head. More specifically his Acropolis Live Concert. Headphones on, noise cancelling on, the world around me OFF. Listening to and singling out every instrument, gives me tremendous focus, which applies to my every day life. My gf was abused by her husband for 10years and had insomnia and rampant uncontrollable thoughts and dreams all day...but doing this, clears her head and all those voices go away. Music is so healing AND enlightening. I just wish with all my focus, i could create music, but i create many other things with my gift.

Puddles you have truly been blessed with a peerless voice and remarkable creativity and imagination. And you bless your fans by sharing your talent so generously. This video is soul shattering. I think it speaks volumes about you that you have been collaborating with the same very talented musicians for so long. There must be a lot of trust, respect and loyalty between you all. You all did an amazing job with this song. Thank you all.
It shows. I was in the business long enough to know that is not always the case. I have to say that I love Tongo Hiti. It is great to watch the way you all work together and go with the flow. You all are seriously talented but don't seem to take yourselves too seriously. It makes it more fun to watch you together.
Thank you Puddles for treating us to the un-disturbed live sound of your voice and to the live exotic sounds of your excellent band, with this Ennio Morricone-inspired interpretation. I appreciate your mix of authority and humility while expressing frustration without resorting to anger and shouting. I also appreciate the note at the beginning and the absence of sound at the end. Considering "The Sound of Puddles" is either musical or silence -- that's especially meaningful. I like that everyone was wearing white, which is the silence of color and the new background with the colorful rectangles reminds me of musical notes and rests. The lighting is really good here also. You and your talented team obviously spent much thought and preparation in making this for us and it's really appreciated.
Hi ccea, I really appreciate your comment here and before. Puddles is a rare talent and he respects his fans by sharing so much of himself. I think it's only right to try to show respect for him and his hard work by putting thought and care into responding to what obviously takes much thought and care on his part. It's actually fun to do it because he provides so much exciting food for thought and feeling through what he gives.
Lady M Agreed. He amazes on all levels; vocally, physicality, immersion, commitment. He continues to fascinate me with not only his musical talent but his choice of lyrics, range of genres and the messages he fosters of empathy, love, humor, and emotional connection. The treat of this year's video productions (vs. fans' live footage in the past) has been an extraordinary in revealing even more of his/his team's brilliance in production and concepts. It's like watching evolution in action and it's glorious. Your comments on his YTs have always been enlightening and I wanted you to know that I appreciate & look forward to you sharing your thoughts.
Hi Robert, Thank you for your reply. It's always a privilege to be part of a creative effort, to be creating with other artists with whom you've enjoyed working for a long time and to also know that so many people will be enjoying your efforts -- must really be an amazing experience. It must have really been interesting trying different approaches and arriving at this thrilling result. I hope you can all collaborate again on other music. We would look forward to hearing and seeing the results of that creativity.

I am sorry for commenting again on this work of art. This is a TRUE MASTERPIECE. Let alone that the lyrics written by Simon and Garfunkel are timeless and carry the weight of causing reflective ponderance, of course Puddles's Voice is utterly Commanding, the musical arrangement rises this to the level of a TRUE MASTERPIECE. I will never tire of this video and version.
Can't believe I've only just discovered Puddles. You are one of my favourite acts ever! Exactly what that talent shows needs the most. Your act and voice are amazing. The comedy and how you incorporate with the singing - it is pure outside the box genius. You are different, fresh, unique, hilarious, touching, moving and inspiring. I love you man - never stop and never doubt yourself. If you're ever in the East of England for whatever bizarre reason I'd love to go see one of your live shows. You're amazing!
Sometimes there are brilliant songs. They are written performed and never forgotten. They are perfect and yet, they are in a process of waiting. Waiting for their destined performer. Johny Cash was the one for Hurt. You, dear sir, are the one for The Sound of Silence. I was among those who wanted you to cover this song and I thought it will be brilliant. But in no way have I seen THAT comming. Just... Thank you.
Puddles I just want to say I respect you you are by far my favorite cover artist when it comes to singing, in my opinion you should have won americas got talent. Thank you and keep doing what you do best!
Puddles.....stunning. Your baritone is so pure and strong. You always seem to return a song to its original form, poetry. We get to hear the poetry in the song....if we listen. Thank you.
This is just so beautiful. I look into Puddles' sad, clown eyes and I feel as though I'm looking into a window into my own soul. I was deeply moved by this. Thanks again Puddles.
My husband was in a conference call on speaker when he got the upload notification and, in his excitement, forgot to mute his phone, so about 50 people were privileged enough to listen to this during their meeting.
This is absolutely one of my favorite songs of all times. I thought it done best originally by Simon and Garfunkle. Then came David Draiman and Disturbed and changed my mind. I came across this yesterday for the first time hearing it and seeing Puddles. Now i have a new favorite version. Both the voice and the visual blow me away. Tremendous talent!!! Gotta go and watch more now. BTW, i am 63 and was around when this song was an infant. It's never been better.
Okay I didn't know whether or not I was gonna like this going in. Damn glad I listened to it though, cause I love it. I was hanging on every word till the very last when the words "of silence" were omitted. Just gorgeous, letting the silence speak for for itself. Flawless!

Big shoutout to Tongo Hiti! The sound waves you all have created here are positively dreamy and compliment P's vocals with dizzying depths of dimension. There is something about the drum beat that makes me feel the weight of the journey we are all on, trudging through each day, shoulders slumping more and more as we are beaten down by life's mysteries but resolved to keep plodding on. The lap steel is just delectable, strikes me as more tropical vibe than western and I love how you let it shine as the dominant sound. The guitar balances perfectly with its more raw determination, without overpowering. And all underpinned by the bass, with a huge nod here to the talent of the man behind all of P's sound production. Having enjoyed many a Tongo Hiti YT over the past couple years, it's a special treat to finally see you all in a video with P! I hope for more video collaborations. Thank you, Tongo Hiti!
ccea, RL and P... ccea worded everything perfectly. I concur with it all. I would LOVE to see more collaborations of anything you guys choose to produce. I've watched all the Tongo Hiti vids I could find and return there often for that tropical / rock / far out sound.

Thanks for giving yourself to us with your passion, your talent and your unique style, thank you for letting us tell about you. We love you, brother!
Personally, I find he RUclips versions more compelling. He seemed to compromise to their expectations and disbelief too much, it lacked the nuance of his versions.
OH MY GOSH!!! Just when I think someone can't do an old classic any justice...here comes Puddles!! I never liked the new remake versions of Sound Of Silence, I always felt this was one of those songs you don't mess with. But man...your voice!!! And the band playing behind you...especially the sound of the Steel Guitar...perfection!!! Well done, Puddles...well done!!!
Tammy Gregory He did an amazing job didn't he!!
go listen to disturbeds live version or pentatonix !
Absolutely!!🙂 I closed my eyes and let go just listening 🎶
I listen to Yanni to clear out the confusion and clutter in my head. More specifically his Acropolis Live Concert. Headphones on, noise cancelling on, the world around me OFF. Listening to and singling out every instrument, gives me tremendous focus, which applies to my every day life. My gf was abused by her husband for 10years and had insomnia and rampant uncontrollable thoughts and dreams all day...but doing this, clears her head and all those voices go away. Music is so healing AND enlightening. I just wish with all my focus, i could create music, but i create many other things with my gift.
You mean your thoughts or actual hallucinations?
Paul Simon's Poetry saved many of us...he is a brilliant American songwriter.
9mm to the brain will end those voices forever you freak
Listening to your song for the first time made me fall in love. Listening for the second time made me cry and appreciate my life more. Thank you.
September 2024. First time. What atmosphere in that voice!
There are now 3 versions of this song I love, the original, disturbed, and now your version. Your voice calms my soul.
and Disturbed used Autotune ...no comparison to Puddles real talent.
@@tusharrao74 You might want to relisten to that. Don't believe it was autotuned as well? Google it- plenty of proof. 'Live' does not mean it isn't filtered- no different than a guitar effect peddle.
@@Josh-ce9sv Bro you act like people can't like something without it being "completely original". You sad
@@Zech455I never said anything about completely original- as this song is a cover of a 50+ year old song anyway. But anyone who praises fake stuff, or doesn't even know they are being spoon fed garbage- probably also watches TV shows with laugh tracks. I love when people use the word BRO- they show their lack of intellect. "You sad" indeed.
@@Josh-ce9sv alright mr "intellectual". Had to get real defensive for being a rude piece of shit in the first place, no one cares about the value in which you hold things, you're a lame couch potato who probably went to a couple concerts and now you're an expert calling other peolle out for saying they like something. I feel bad for anyone that has to deal with you in real life.
My brother in law died of suicide this year, and he loved this song. So it means a lot to me, and thank you for this beautiful rendition! I can hear him in it. ❤
Amy Strickland SORRY!
Much love to you and your family
My son also shot himself almost a year ago. when I think of him I listen to this song,
How is this perfomance not illegal?
I'm in tears.
❤☝👀
Can u image Eric claps tears from heaven
Puddles has the most evocative voice I've ever heard.
Warum ist die Version von Disturbed legal? Aus dem gleichen Grund. Nur kann der nicht singen, der Clown hier hat dagegen richtig Talent und eine tolle Stimme.
@@oliverhoffmann8215 speak a the English please.

Oh my God
I think this may be the best version of this song I have ever heard

Puddles, I don't know how to stay that to you. I'm just learning english, but even in portuguese I'll never find the right words. Yesterday at night was the first time that I saw you at a performance on a TV show. Now I can't count how many times I saw and heard you. You and your emmotional voice touched my heart very deep. I'm sad. My grandfather is sick and diyng. But the show must go on... I saw in yours presentations that I am not alone. Everybody hurts, everybody cryies.
Thank you. You put a smile uppon my face today. You fixed my broken heart with your voice.
If someday you came to Brazil for a show, you can count on me to see you.
I hope to see you in Brazil someday. Much love to you! ❤️

The whole performance is fantastic, but leaving out the words and letting the silence have the final word at the end is just chilling genius.
Awesome ending

Honestly i loved the cover but the ending hurt my need for completion
Frustrating and Brilliant!

Sorry if my English is bad, I love the way you sing, sir, I congratulate you. I would love to see you sing Bridge Over Troubled Water. Greetings from Venezuela.
Paula McCartin There absolutely is trust and respect among all of us. Thanks!
It shows. I was in the business long enough to know that is not always the case. I have to say that I love Tongo Hiti. It is great to watch the way you all work together and go with the flow. You all are seriously talented but don't seem to take yourselves too seriously. It makes it more fun to watch you together.
Paula McCartin Thank you so much for those kind compliments. You are again, spot on!

I've just seen this, absolutely brilliant version.
Chilling, sad, moving, beautiful, and everything in between. This guy is absolutely amazing, his voice has no equal.
This man truly understands the suffering we sometimes go through such raw emotions can be felt in is voice
Lady M I just have to tell you that I am always blown away by your comments as much as I am by P's vids. You're a thinker and I dig it. ✌️
Lady M Thank you! Very kind of you. We had a blast doing this song.
Breathless, Speechless!! Home run P!!!

Really the voice of an Angel, not even close.

@@patriciamotes2694 your comment is a perfect example of why punctuation matters.
@@patriciamotes2694 and what would be your definition of the voice of an Angel?? This man has a very bold and Powerful singing voice. He would sound wonderful amongst the angels singing. Obviously you just don't know good music when you hear it.
I've been into Puddles now for eight years and saw him play and met the big fella twice when he came to London. This song still has the power to move me to my core and yes taciting the last two words is a master stroke. See you soon again at the London Palladium.😊

Four months later I did the same. Just subscribed. New fan.
Well said! This man has a sensational Tenor Voice
Just... Thank you.
That voice… It is like a mink stole it wraps around you and makes you feel warm and comforted
Absolutely incredible, Puddles. Speechless.
❤
Puddles I just want to say I respect you you are by far my favorite cover artist when it comes to singing, in my opinion you should have won americas got talent. Thank you and keep doing what you do best!
Puddles.....stunning. Your baritone is so pure and strong. You always seem to return a song to its original form, poetry. We get to hear the poetry in the song....if we listen. Thank you.
His Voice are soo Crystal clear you dnt need to read the lyrics to understand it..
Yes, he even made Ozzy Osbourne lyrics audible.
Hermano, los gestos, los ademanes, se ve que lo sientes y lo disfrutas.
Gran detalle del final!
Mereces más reconocimiento, sigue así!
The talent this dude has for music is simply mind blowing!!
This is just so beautiful. I look into Puddles' sad, clown eyes and I feel as though I'm looking into a window into my own soul.
I was deeply moved by this. Thanks again Puddles.
My husband was in a conference call on speaker when he got the upload notification and, in his excitement, forgot to mute his phone, so about 50 people were privileged enough to listen to this during their meeting.
did that really happen or is it just a funny story?
I loved him on America's Got talent! I love the sincerity in his voice, it has depth which is so rare! Please keep making music! God Bless from Alaska
It still kills me that he's in his garage. But way to go Puddles, you'll be outta there and in a high dollar studio in no time. 💙
Dear God this is amazing.
Kris’ playing is mysteriously elegant and beautiful. I LOVE the Tongo Hiti sound. I can’t overthink or analyze, it just FEELS … _________
I listened to your song in America's Got Talent and looked you up on RUclips, and I became your fan after watching this video. From korea
Okay I didn't know whether or not I was gonna like this going in. Damn glad I listened to it though, cause I love it. I was hanging on every word till the very last when the words "of silence" were omitted. Just gorgeous, letting the silence speak for for itself. Flawless!
I've heard this song dozens of times, but to hear the depth and sincerity expressed by Puddles is a testament to his amazing musical abilities. Loved his version.
THE best one Puddles has done. Hauntingly meaningful with a perfect ending.
