Very nicely done gentlemen! The Temagami beauty shines through, winter or otherwise. Most pleased to hear of the welcoming hospitality, and the assistance you guys were offered and/or received. Temagami is a challenge even with the best laid plans. Always an adventure, yet one that never disappoints! Thank you for your hard work in sharing your good times!
Thanks PJ! The weekend would not have been the same without the difficulties. Also the end result, despite the lack of fish lol, was well worth the trek. Thanks for watching
Looked like a nice time, always nice to be in the Temagami area. You'll find that old traditional snowshoes work much better than any of the new ones. Live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, 200 inches of snow per year average(500 cm) so deep snow is the norm. For backcountry off trail the old snowshoes are superior. The new modern ones are made for packed trails.
Alex, you had my mouth watering when you were talking about the chilli wraps with cheese until you added the mustard oh my god that’s gross LOL. Nice video BTW
Nice to see 2 buds enjoying their adventure in a challenging northern wilderness (remotely located 900 m from the car, no less). That was one busy looking tent. Enjoyed every minute of the video !
We had to laugh because we also drove 5 hours to get here...many other places we could have gone but we love temagami and had 4 potential route options. This was unfortunately the bottom of the list due to its populated area. The issue was all the remote routes had no road access. Still a great trip and we were lucky there were no cottages on our side of the lake. Thanks for watching
Nice trip boy's! I hope the slush wasnt that bad on the return . Looking forward to your canoe adventures as spring is on it's way. Thank's for sharing 👍 Sylvain, Québec
Thanks for watching Sylvain. Our tracks had completely frozen on the way out. The two hour walk we had on the way in turned into a 20 minute walk out haha
Nice video. The slush in Temagami this year is the worst I have ever seen it. Lots of snowmobiles got stuck on the lake. It's too bad you never made it to Blueberry, its a beautiful lake. Keep the videos coming!
Yeah it was pretty bad! We were going to day trip to Blueberry but because of the fishing info we decided to stay for the "better fishing". We had no luck unfortunately.
Was out in Algonquin same weekend.. 10k hike turned into 2k after 3 hours of work, didn't expect that lol The sunset and moon the second night was incredible as well
Is there a greater backcountry cuisine than PB bacon wraps? I assume your beers are so close to the fire as they froze. There have certainly been a few beers I’ve thawed in the fire before
haha the fishing was a true kicker. I have not had a ton of success ice fishing as you would see going back through previous winter videos. This trip I thought the minnows would have been the secret but I guess not!
hi guys,i got a temagami sleeping bag for the trunk as an emergency got it at a yard sale and i think it's a ghost as i cannot find any other temagami.sports gear or camping or bushcraft
This is still bothering me..I have done a fair number of trips now and this was the first time I could say that we were having an issue. Some thoughts: 1) the tent was set up on a bit of a slope, might not have had the perfect seal along the bottom. The canvas wasn't completely touching the ground and we think that there was a bit of a draft through the plastic sections exposed (our tent has plastic at the base of the canvas to put snow on to hold the walls down). 2) The first night we had the "spark catcher" at the top of the stove pipe and we find this gets dirty quickly and then stops air flow. This in combination with wood that was not perfectly dry might have explained the situation we were in. It was slightly better the second night but still not as warm as previous years where it was basically t-shirt weather inside.
Get out there and learn!! You learn by doing!! Well done!!

That was so nice of that snowmobiler to make you a trail
The struggle is real!! Don't ya just love late season snowpack conditions 🙄 Love the OG White Pine too!
Awesome trip! A trip is not a trip without a few obstacles. This looked like a dandy. Thanks for sharing.
Couldn't agree more! This wouldn't have been the same trip without the difficulties
Fun adventure! THANKS
13:29 that tree is amazing.

Will need to try some of the older pairs out! I know they are definitely larger which would make sense for keeping you on top. Thanks for watching

I certainly do not know of a better cuisine haha. Yes the beers froze and we were trying to warm them up. Classic haha
Northern Scavenger so Canadian 😂
What a tough slog thru slush and snow to have a weekend adventure, at least the fishing was awesome 😂
Seriously though, another great video 🤙🤙

You guys should go fishing for walleye
We were! No luck though! Thought the minnows were going to be the secret.

Why was the tent so cold?
