  • In Murcia there is an exciting festival every year that takes place one week after Easter. It starts out with “Bando de la Huerta” which is a parade with farmers that stroll through the town dressed in their national costumes along with their farm animals. After this is “Dia del Pastel de Carne” meaning the day of pastries with meat in them. On this day the local bakeries hand out these pastries to everyone who is at the festival. The next day is “Fiesta de la Primavera” where people dance and enjoy themselves while the streets are decorated with lots of flowers and wagons stroll through the streets of the town with bands that play music. The last day is called “Entierro de la Sardina” and on this day people bury sardines and ignite fireworks.
