    I mentioned before the season not to sign Swayman and to go with Korpisalo, their record would not be any worse than right now. They could have used the money to trade for an impactful forward, hindsight is always 20/20.

      If they should have learned anything from last year's playoffs, it was that they can't score goals. Their two biggest signings--Swayman and E. Lindholm--can't score goals. That's what I call a big ole' DURRR!

    Agree on Pat Maroon but that lockeroom of putz's were put off by his piss & vinegar. Also, it's ridiculous to trade Zadorov. At least HE plays with a pulse. McAvoy for all he's making is lost in space 95% of the time and can NOT run a PP.

    The best thing to start to fix this thing is getting rid of Sweeney and Neely, but the Jacobs love them, they are part of the old boys club.

    I agree with you on how they judge talent being behind where the current NHL is now. Would they have been better or worse had they kept DeBrusk and Heinen ? They need two top centers to distribute the puck. They aren’t close in that respect. Guys who had career years last year and got paid for it have reverted back to their former selves. They miss Lindholm on the back end for sure. When I watch this team play they seem disconnected. Their passing and entry into the offensive zone just isn’t there. I watched the Colorado vs Winnipeg game last night and the speed compared to watching the Bruins play was quite noticeable. There was also the way they move the puck five on five. It was amazing to watch.

  • @cmac3530
    @cmac3530 День назад

    It's not that I don't want them to make the playoffs. It's that I don't want them to prioritize making the playoffs with this current team rather than prioritizing the future via acquiring draft capital.
    Basically I don't want to see them trade a bunch of picks for a couple rentals just to get bounced in the first round anyway. What's the point?
    The much smarter thing to do would be to sell at the deadline, re-stock that barren draft/prospect pool, get the few kids you have some experience, and hope for the best the rest of this year.

    It sucked all right, I was at this shitty game. The TBL fans were so happy to win and I’m sitting there thinking it really isn’t that exciting, the Bruins are not good. It was a given that Tampa was going to win. I went just to see for myself wtf is up with this team and boy was it eye opening.

    You mention not wanting to be mediocre, but their record says otherwise. Whether the fans want to admit it or not the team is that right now. That’s not a future worry but a present reality. There’s to much parity in the NHL if you make mistakes in drafting, free agent signings, etc. a team can go downhill overnight.
    Vegas, who leads the whole league in points percentage just got shut out at home to the Islanders. The habs just beat the Eastern conference leading Caps on their home turf.

    Please stop using the term “retool” without some basis in what one would look like for this team. To think the Bs have the kind of assets to get 14,15.16 in the draft like they did in ‘15 is not happening unless you trade Pasta, Mac and Marsh. And I’m sure they have protections. There’s only rebuild or stay the course.

    Trade Marchand to the Flames for a 1st and 3rd. They can give him a 4 year 36 million dollar extension and push for the playoffs this year. Kadri and Brad would set the Saddledome on fire. Now is the time, Neely. Take your medicine with the reality of the game. Youth and development are needed. 🔮

  • @user-mf4pl8tl9z
    @user-mf4pl8tl9z 2 дня назад +2

    BOS has a team similar to WSH last year during their retool where they sneaked into the playoffs with a neg goal differential.
    The problem is that this is not a retool year but upper mgmt going for it, yet they can easily miss the playoffs with the Habs, Detroit, Bluejackets (and others) vying for a spot with apparently, hungrier talent.
    The wildcard will probably come down to the final weeks if not final game on who gets in with practically all of the teams having a shot, except BUF unless they go on a prolonged heater.

    There is no trade, unless the GM up in Edmonton has lost his mind, say Frederic for McDavid ......that will help the B's.

  • @EnigmaticAnomaly
    @EnigmaticAnomaly 2 дня назад

    No trade will save this season, or build for the future. Sweeney F'ed up. Royally. Too many big contracts for players that would probably even struggle in Providence. If it's an option, I think they should waive Swayman, Lindholm, and Zadarov -- If they can rid themselves of those ugly contracts, then maybe they can pick up some decent players in free agency at the end of the season. The team needs leadership, and Brad Marchand is NOT Patrice Bergeron. They have no legacy players left to fill that role.

    @Beavs_POV 2 дня назад

    Honestly, the guys need to be better. usually these guys are great. This yr not so much maybe u either trade Marchand or he's back without the C next year. I love the guy but the other guys don't look at him like a C. I think he's got a big role in this organization going forward just not as the C. Dons' prob going to be forced to clear out scouting & coaching staffs. That'll get new blood but Don is not going anywhere. This is the new Sinden guys. It's awful but at least they spend to the cap now. lol

    Nice podcast. Agree but where the narrative of being an overly comfortable country club truly rears its head is the three headed monster of charlie jacobs, neely, and sweeney. Jacobs is a manchild that idolizes cam, cam is a dinosaur, and sweeney has not brought a single true offensive talent to the team in a decade. All while giving out 1000 no moves and CREATING the country club culture. They coasted on the backs of bergeron, krecji, chara, tuuka, pastrnak, and marchand forever... and that time is over. No real change without cleaning house up top first.
