  • The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti was a powerhouse graphics card when it was released in March 2017. With its remarkable performance and ample V RAM, it quickly became a favorite among gamers and content creators alike. However, with technology advancing at an astonishing pace, it's natural to wonder if the GTX 1080 Ti is still relevant and capable of delivering solid performance in 2024. In this video, we'll assess its performance scores and see if it can hold its own in the ever-evolving world of PC gaming.

    ━━━━━━━━━━━━━
When it was released, the GTX 1080 T i was considered a 4 K gaming GPU. It excelled at running demanding titles at 4K resolution, and even today, it can handle most games at 1440 p and 4 K with high settings. It boasts 11 gigabytes of GDDR5 X VRAM, which is more than enough for handling large textures and complex scenes. Games like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Assassin's Creed Valhalla can still be enjoyed at 60 frames per second or higher at 1440 p, showcasing the card's enduring prowess.
The GTX 1080 does not support hardware-based ray tracing, a feature introduced with NVIDIA's RTX series. While ray tracing can significantly enhance the visual quality of games, the 1080 T i can still run ray-traced games, albeit at lower frame rates and with reduced ray-tracing effects. This means that titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Control will still be playable, although not at their full ray-traced potential.
NVIDIA's Deep Learning Super Sampling, DLSS technology is another feature not supported by the GTX 1080 Ti. DLSS can improve performance in ray-traced games by using AI to upscale lower-resolution images. Gamers with a GTX 10 80 Ti will miss out on this feature, but it doesn't render the card obsolete.
One drawback of the GTX 1080 Ti is its relatively high power consumption. With a TDP of 250 watts, it requires a robust power supply unit and good case ventilation. However, this high-power consumption also translates to strong gaming performance, as it allows the GPU to maintain high clock speeds under load.
4K gaming at 60 frames per second has long been regarded as the holy grail of PC gaming, and the GTX 1080 T i came the closest. However, getting a smooth gaming experience in Ultra HD depends rely on the games you're trying to play. With titles like Battlefield 1 and Doom, we were able to attain frame rates in the 50 to 60 range. That is no simple task, yet these are still two of the best-optimized games available. Then, Nvidia released a DirectX 12 optimized Game Ready Driver, which allowed us to run Rise of the Tomb Raider at a steady 40 frames per second, not quite matching the Titan X's 57 frames per second, but more than doubling the 1080 20 frames per second.

It performed ok, warzone 1440p fsr3 was about 100fps... , but damn, i switched to a new b560 board with an 11600k and it melted it. With fsr3 i was getting like 170-200fps. As said... in gaming.... newer cpus defo crush. i swapped out my 4060ti for an older but more powerful 3080, and fps went up again to over 200fps. However, i then went loco and switched to PS5. Why? My son games on a PC with a 4th gen i5 and a GTX 1070. We both only game in 1080p, and high settings without ever having aystem requirements dictate what we can play. My 180ti can do ultra in moat games even at 144hz but I still customize settings for competitive advantage. Such as reduced shadows in Fortnite and turf inatead of grass in Rocket League. Wreckfest, my favorite Racer, runs 144hz, 1080p on ultra settings always though

I can confirm as of January 16th, 2024 the GTX 1080 Ti is still ultra powerful and amazing. I'm playing Modern Warfare III and ALL other AAA titles with high end graphics and super high FPS. Anyone saying this card is 'old' is correct but it's still insane powerful. My Sata SSD's are "old" compared to M.2 drives but the Sata SSD is still VERY FAST. Modern tech has reached fantastic levels. Sure there is always new tech but the stuff out now lasts a lot longer than it used to. 11GB of GDDR5 in the 1080 Ti is TONS! You want 16 GB or more VRAM? You're paying thousands for the price of what a GTX 1080 Ti will do for a couple hundred and with very few uses outside of MAXED out graphics and FPS on the NEWEST titles with Ray tracing and Virtual Reality.

This is definitely AI. Nobody follows a script that closely, and the script is written in a way such that an AI voice could actually read it. Plus listen to the over-pronunciation of GDDR RAM lol. This is just the most basic of reproduced AI content, and asking chatGPT if this was generated by an LLM, it says that it's extremely likely that it was (not conclusive but, a safe bet). So yea, long story short this channel should hopefully go nowhere, as whoever is responsible needs to put in more effort, and not pass off the Internets work as their own. Do not support this content, it's just bad.

I am not selling my Gtx 1080ti. All the games pop up off the my screen.
The Gtx 1080ti. Was the biggest mistake For NVIDIA. No other videocard can play 3d after the GTX 1080ti.
      So. There you have it.
Now. Are you going to help with my Question? Or not?

@@Gioxtream Interesting take on the 1080. But to each their own. As far as building a system I'm a big fan of AMD at the moment. Are you familiar with pcpartpicker? It's a cool website of custom builds. I'd check out that site and click completed builds at the top. There is just so much personal taste that goes into a custom build that it's hard to say one is "the best". But check through the completed builds and I bet you'll find some you like.

i would recommend you upgrade your cpu too. you would be cpu bottlenecked using the GTX 1080 meaning it won't be used to it's full potential because the cpu is weak.

I have TWO 1080Ti's. In the VERY near future, you will find that 8GB of VRAM just isn't enough. If you have anything open, besides, your game, it is common to see 9GB or 10GB in use. The games that "I" play don't use Ray Tracing or DLSS. But, that 11GB of GDDR5X makes a huge difference.

Even PCs vary wildly in performance, wouldn’t make sense to build a game that only runs on the highest end hardware. Without consoles developers wouldn’t have nearly as much money to work with either, plus the architecture is closer to PCs than it’s ever been, obviously not as good but it is progress
