So so so crucial. Yes God selects, in His ways beyond our understanding. He veils. But yes let the called persevere to the end. In His power strength and love

This step/act of GOD 2:11 to CAUSE this falling away ( which must come BEFORE the revelation of the man of sin) and so START the whole predetermined plan for the end times confirms for me Mat 24:36 that ONLY the Father knows when these things will begin.

Very scary. Just like the passage in Revelation 22:11 when Jesus says "Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy."

God sends a deluding influence, so that some people will believe the lie. But note how the text says that he does this BECAUSE they didn't welcome the love of the truth. So it isn't as if God causes innocent people to believe the lie. It is only because they have already sinned.
This reminds us of Rom 1:24, 26, where God hands people over to homosexual perversion BECAUSE they have already sinned.

Amen! Are you living in sin? Are you a lawless one? Are you holding fast to your sins and ther ways of this world?
I tell you this, when someone introduces you to Christ, you are either the most blessed or you are the most cursed, because you did, or didn't, love the Way the Truth or the Life, Jesus Christ, the only Savior of the world. You will not be saved after you die, you are saved while you are alive.
If you do not love Christ Jesus; if you do not love His Word; you do not, and cannot love the Truth.
I call all of us to live a life of repentance-- It's not a one time deal!
Love it or leave it, and remember that it is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God, if you have counted His mercy to be greater than His judgement, when you have trampled the blood of Christ under foot, there no longer remains a sacrifice for your sins, your damned to hell.
Remember, our salvation came at a great cost, don't cheapen His grace.
Much love to you, the true church of the Living God.

But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring.
    Romans 9:6‭-‬8 ESV
Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.
    1 John 2:18‭-‬19 ESV
When Christ came many of His people rejected Him.
When the Man of lawlessness comes many in the church will accept Him.

I wonder how did Paul know God will send a delusion. Yes I believe he was divinely inspired but he had to have pondered what he was saying and had a reason for writing as he did. It makes me wonder if there is any coming back from being deluded by Satan and by God.

  • @annpowers9005

It seems that he uses God instead of Satan when he says that the man of lawlessness is in fact God. I think he meant is actually Satan ( God cannot be the man of lawlessness).

Ray, it seems that so many people view God through the lenses of humanity.
It's hard for some... maybe all of us to understand that Almighty God and there NOTHING He can't do. He is Holy, He is perfect in every way. Here is the God of justice. He is the God of mercy. He's the God of Grace. He is the King of kings, the God above all gods. He is the One and only Creator.
We are not for to stand in His presence, but His Son was, so it's only by His mercy and grace that we who are in Christ that will be able to stand in His presence at all.
We/ some, don't understand how filthy, weakand undeserving we are, but when the Father looks upon us, all He sees is the blood of His only begotten Son, and Here sees the Son's righteousness that covers our unrighteousness.
We can never live up to God's standards because He is the standard. All human flesh has been corrupted, therefore we can never be "perfect because our Father in heaven is perfect." We cannot be holy because our Father in heaven is holy." That's why He sends His Holy Spirit to dwell within us. Even then, we all fall short of His glory.
Our God is so so good to us, and there one phrase that I look most forward to is, "Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord."
It bothers me that there is such a lack of obedience within us, and I say this to whomever says that obedience is legalism. If that's the case how will you ever be able to tell the Judge that, after knowing who He is, they continued in thier sins because they trusted His grace more than they trusted the fact that He gave the law, and will judge those who break it, because He is the Judge, and we are all criminals in His sight.
We can't be perfect, but we can walk in a manner that glorifies Him. When we sin, we confess, repent and move on.
God bless you and all who reads this.
I was totally going in a different direction when I started writing this, lol!
