Nick, this was my favorite video that you’ve done. The countryside is just gorgeous! A great house for the price and I love those ceilings. It doesn’t matter if the houses sell before you post. They’re just examples of life in the Algarve and I have no doubt that Pedro will find me the perfect country house when I arrive. It’s great to see something besides those sterile, modern flats that look like any old city in the world. Loved the lovely lunch with friends and you make everything interesting. Can’t wait to see more traditional houses and unique restaurants. Thank you!

Another episode idea: What's renting like? Tips for renters, etc. I read that rentals are very hard to find, especially in the popular areas, and that landlords don't often do long-term leasing. Lots to be said for moving somewhere new & renting for a while before you buy or build....

    • @AlgarveAddicts

Funny that, I was just thinking about doing a video all about renting as so many people struggle with getting a years lease for the D7 visa.

You are pretty much the “Pusher Man” Nick on the Algarve. Now I’m hooked and becoming a Portugal junkie thanks to your video series. I appreciate all the time you have put into these videos. They look simple and spontaneous but it’s evident how much thought and planing went into them. What an amazing place. Unfortunately I am still counting the years before I can plan my escape to those lands. Watching the videos certainly help though. Cheers mate.

It has the opposite effect on me, these videos fill me with dread seeing how these people live and knowing I'm so far away from living that kind of life.

That's sad, André. Doesn't it inspire you to work harder for a better life? Trust me, it's not easy making these videos, it's fun, but it's also a ton of hard work and requires dedicated planning and networking.

Thanks for putting all these videos together, Nick. I’m recently single (39 years old) with no kids (just my dog). I’m not a big city person, and currently live in a small rural village 20 minutes away from a small city. The dating scene is tough around here. Have you done a video on dating scenes for people other than the obvious choice for someone under 30 (Lisbon/Porto)? Maybe a video with a bachelor/bachelorette that has moved to the Algarve’s and their experience. Maybe a bit about your experience when you moved at 30 years old as a single person? Would love the back story, but understand you perhaps wanting to keep your private life private. Cheers to all your hard work on these videos. I’m really enjoying and am quickly making it through your video collection!

What I lovely house. I’m torn between rural living versus being walking distance to a small town and restaurants cafes shops etc, especially with a nearly teenager. But I can see the prices rise nearer the coast. What’s the traffic like in the summer? Is it awful to get to the beach, can you always find a place to park ? Do you tend to drive everywhere in the hottest months as it’s too hot to walk to places anyway?

I assume that you are knowledgeable about the various visas in Portugal. I am an American living in Colombia. I have been here for 11 years. I am thinking of moving to Portugal and I favor the D/ visa. Do you know if one can qualify for this visa with substantial bank deposits? I have just enough pension and investment income to qualify, and I will have substantial balances in the bank. Depending on the exchange rates, etc, I may need to show bank deposits to qualify.
I really enjoy your videos. Portugal seems like an ideal place to live.
