It’s because this isn’t a soprano... it’s the wonderful coloratura mezzo Julia Lezhneva. Although upon first hearing this rendition I also had the impression that this is a hefty dramatic coloratura soprano singing.
@@christopherpericolosi-king4979 I’ve actually heard her hit a high Eb a la Bartoli (in the same aria - Riedi al Soglio). Her voice does sound quite a bit heavier than it did when she first came about, so it makes sense to me that her top would shorten over time.
@@Yotam1703 agreed!! I love her voice, but I just wonder why she chooses so many pieces that are Volorarura style than Bel Canto; which is clearly her vocal style!

Are we just ignore that when she attempts to sing turns (eg F-E-D-E) and trills, she just repeats the same note like a machine-gun? Slow the clip down and listen for yourself. Also, she takes the noisiest breaths in the history of singing.

I'm only disappointed the soprano didn't hit the high C originally written. Otherwise, the soprano was phenomenal!

@@Yotam1703 yes its her; but a mezzo IS a soprano! And shes capable (as mezzo's are) of hitting that C. Ive heard her hit a high Dd!

Love this work but the soprano had articulations I didn't like. Her trills were awesome.

I'm sure, Maria Callas would sing it better (no) Even Cecilia Bartoli couldn't do it very well😭😭
