Honestly.....I don't have one bad thing to say. Sick riffs,good vocals,solid drums....works for me, my friend. I have shared some of my story and everything that has happened and what has got me threw was to put my faith in love,loyalty and respect. Which works much better for me then any religion.
Greatest metal band on the planet led by the greatest vocalist on the planet. Fearless in their willingness to take on subject matter in their songwriting that few other bands would dare to touch and not really caring if they lose a bunch of fans along the way by evolving their sound every album to something new and fresh. They should be much bigger outside of europe than they are.
I don't listen to WT often, but whenever I do, I always get caught in the soothing power of Sharon's voice, the groovy, captivating ambience and their solid, cohesive arrangements. These lyrics are powerful and resonates a lot to what I've had experienced through the last 10 years of my life. And, as we've been talking about this subject before and I reiterate here, man made structures tend to encage us, imprison our souls. At least that's how I've felt and still feel about this. Anyhow, it's a good damn song with a damn powerful lyrical content.
Yea, I don't really go out of my way to listen but damn do I love her voice.

They started as a gothic/doom metal band in 1996 and to me, their first album "Enter" is THE album for me. Though they have a solid career, I just haven't listen too much of their few previous albums.

This is one of my daughter's favorite bands, I was first introduced to their music by her about 18 years ago. I've been following them ever since. I heard this before she did, she was so upset I beat her to a new WT song lol

This was a really good song. The music was top notch and the message resonated deeply with me. I think this is a subject many of us wrestle with at some point in our lives. Our paths can seem to change but, is it just a bend in the way? And, is anyone's path the same? I think not.

Hi Tommy, Another classic review. Within Temptation have gone all political with this album, "Bleed out" was all about activites in Iran. I don't usually like politics geting mixed up with music, but Within Temptation always seem to hit the right blend, especially musically. Have you heard of a band called Dogma? Check out "Father I have sinned". They also have their debut album out this Friday

I really like this song. I grew up in a religious house and still consider myself a person of faith, but that faith has changed with me as I've gotten older. I do my best not to force my religious beliefs on others, as everyone has the right to choose their beliefs for themselves, and to me this song speaks out about the hypocrisy I see among those who claim to share my faith but prove otherwise with their actions.
I respect that so much.
Great song, great review, and great commentary! It has a deep message, the subject of which I struggled with for half my life until I realized that I had to walk my own path regardless of what others think I should do. Their realities were often unfathomable and alien to me. Regarding WT, I've always liked the band, especially when her operatic voice comes out, like in the songs "The Other Half of Me" and "The Promise."
First listen, i thought it was good. Catchy riffs, drops, etc. i didn't catch much of the lyrics, so it might make more of an impact with that. Overall not bad, ❤ and ✌️
