My sister in law is 20 years younger than my husband and i. Over the past 10 years of her high school and college years, i have enjoyed experiencing her coming into my house dressed UN-ironically identical to my mom in the early 90s and having her wandering in wearing the sweatpants and tank top sporty spice look i wore in college. I've needed to go sit down both times lol! She did tell me that cargo pants are back in fashion so i look forward to being able to carry my keys easily again. 😂 Oh, and my husband pulled a pectoral muscle this weekend from sneezing. we had to ice him and the use a heat pad immediately afterwards plus Advil. I told him i was disappointed as i thought we'd at least have another 10 years before we both started having to treat one another like we're old pitchers lol!
I'm 38 last year I asked for back massaging equipment for Christmas as well as books. Best Christmas ever. I now sit reading in my chair while my neck, back and lower back get massaged. Pure heaven

I’m one of those not-quite-either, stuck-in-the-middle “Xennial” peeps. Turned 40 in November. I feel like I’m mentally strong and intelligent and loving this age/stage - but my body definitely has other ideas 😂 Don’t need reading glasses *yet* (I know it’s coming) and I don’t drink alcohol so I’ve never had a hangover and can’t say how my body would respond, but other than that? Heck yes. I love subtitles on TV (so I can “hear” it over my kids!) Grocery stores play my jams! Sleeping wrong happens way too often. Sickness lingers longer. My gallbladder’s warranty expired last year. But really, my friends, don’t be afraid of getting older! The 30s feel like finely-aged 20s, and 40 feels like finding the ground ❤ After years of feeling like I’m looked down on, I’m not wanted, or I don’t fit in (I have 5 older sisters/siblings), thank you for welcoming me to your club! As a boomer Im laughing so hard. All of this was truth 20 years ago. The doors are wide open here too, come on in, the water in the walk in tub is just fine!!
Thanks for the welcome/call-out! 30 years old here and I've been dealing with recurrent back pain that happens just because since I was 16 and have already dealt with 2 nasty sciatica flare-ups! Lol. Passing over the Advil. Elder Millennial at 40 here and this is my anthem now. I know I'm getting older when I have to Google half of what my 14-year-old nephew tells me, or simply ask him what the hell that means... he's a good sport about it, he'll just tell me, doesn't make fun of me for not knowing what the hell half the words he uses mean.
I'm 32 and started running during the pandemic, and it's only been in this last year that I discovered what a runner's hangover is. Didn't have it when I started a few years ago, and I was really bad about bringing water out with me running. I'd be fine the next day, now when I do my long runs on Saturdays I'm still feeling the run on Monday where I feel like my head is still in a vice. Just wtf?! Also, I might need to get one of those massage guns for after my runs. A tip for avoiding back pain after 30, core work. I know it sounds silly, but long car or plane trips used to mess up my back. I've been focusing on core work for my runner's knee and it's also helped address my back pain for those long trips. But I do keep a lot of pain meds and having to discover new things for my body deciding to fall apart on me.
HAHA oh man, yeah, back when I was 27 I ran 3 miles a day and did 45 minutes to 1.5 hours of Tae Bo and 1 hour of yoga and 1 hr of strength training with NO problems.... Now, though? 🤣🤣 A single squat without stretching can easily ruin my entire day, when all I meant was to pick up something I dropped or get the laundry out of the dryer lol.
@Homestead Gamer oof yeah, active stretching is the way to go to do any sort of stretching, lol. I run to prevent tension headaches that I started developing when I was 28 during grad school. They can get debilitating. Never had that issue before and now I have to run to keep my back loose. Luckily, it also helps with stress relief, but ugh, my body is falling apart!

As a core millennial, I think this is just a little bit early. Like 2-3 more years and the majority of millennials are gonna be feeling this jam deeply. John Oliver just made a joke that millennials under 35 will never own a house and did a video on Chuck E Cheese instead. Like I ain't going to be at 8 lol, I didn't get a chair I got a hammock for my feet. I love my cheap theragun and hangovers only last 36hrs or so. So like I deeply agree and see the future here, but happy to say I'm still waiting outside the club

i'm now at the point: bootleg for life. genX, and bootleg weren't trendy for us, that was a 70s thing, we were too young for that, we had ripped jeans, ugly acid washed jeans, baggy jeans. bootleg suit my body type, so that's my style until I die.

I'm a xillenial, born in 1980 right on the generation border. I identify more with millenials because I grew up with a lot of technology, but my older siblings are all firmly in Gen X. But age wise... getting older hasn't been new to me for a while. When I hear zillenials talking about being millenials, it weirds me out. They're 20 years younger than me (which actually makes sense, that's about the span of a generation, but it still feels weird).
the border is the bicentennial, that's why he mentions it. You're nearly a half decade start after the Millennials who begin in 1977, so sit back, and enjoy being a Millennial, you're born between 1977 and 1998, the years mentioned here: multco-web7-psh-files-usw2.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/s3fs-public/career-management/documents/welcometothegenerations.pdf
At 48, I’m firmly Gen-X, but relate to a lot of millennial stuff. The shopping music from college and trendy vintage clothes hit hard. My favorite band is Nirvana and never threw away all my tshirts. A couple years ago I sold them and was surprised by how much they went for. Guess there’s a lot of GenX-curious people out there (thanks for the new word)! I love Blink-182 and got to see them play in a barn before they became famous. So, half the time, it’s like you’re welcoming me to a club that I’m already in 😂 😂 or maybe I should use 💀💀 for the kids, hahaha

I’m a millennial that just turned 30 and got married. I started realizing things that truly mattered to me and one of them for sure is surrounding myself with great people and company. Getting old sucks and is kind of depressing, but it’s a better when you have nice people to grow old with😊
This is so funny because this true. I’ll have to share this to my Wordle Group chat 😂. Welcome to club Millennials! Gen X Curious is a short waiting to happen.
I literally couldn't stop laughing while simultaneously nodding/agreeing with everything in this song. 😊 I turn 40 literally a month from today. So good!
My kids are Millenials-40 and 37, and I’m a mid-Boomer-68. I have a younger sister who is a Gen Xer. It’s a lot of fun watching my kids turn into my sister, who is turning in to me!
That’s officially when I felt old. They had this grocery store cartoon ad with Roley Poli looking old shoppers jamming out to usher while they did the grocery shopping in a commercial. And then I thought how I wasn’t even offended. I genuinely was interested in what was on sale at the grocery store and it was like a graduated to where I used to picture Gen Xers.
Millennials -- "The grocery store music was what I listened to in college." Gen-X -- "I am confused by grocery store music because I only know the Weird Al version."
We only know the Weird Al version because the Weird Al playlist remains active even after the original song drops out of the "top 40s" playlist so they remain musical gems stuck in amber after the originals are gone. (That's an exaggeration, but there are literally peices that I only know from his polka medlies thar sound super weird when I heard the original.)
I have been following you guys for MANY years, and in that time I’ve seen a lot of wholesome things. But this… This right here takes the cake. I love it so much. I have always wanted to collab with you one day or work together somehow (I write parodies too and this channel of family fun is THE DREAM). Speaking of dreams, you know how sometimes what you see during the day bleeds through into dreams? I dreamt I met you guys! Twice. (So it’s safe to say I watch your videos a ton!) Problem is I live in AZ, so if we did work together, it’d have to be remote.

I turned 40 back in October- and I hardly noticed- I think I might end up liking the 40s better than my 30s. I feel more together and confident.
Turning 40 soon. I’m so much more confident now than I was in my 20’s. I don’t care what people think anymore. Although, I just spent way too much on a new mattress…And it was completely worth it!
Life begins at 40.
Happy birthday
My name is Nancy as well and I'll be 40 next month. I had that crisis moment and then thought, whelp nothing I can do about aging so just gotta enjoy each day! 😊
This was surprisingly wholesome and comforting -- thank you for the warm welcome! So refreshing against all the generation-wars.... It's an honor to join a club that you guys are in! 🌟
100% this.
I'm 41 & it hit me one day that the 90s & even early 00s are to young people what the 70s were to me at their age. Kinda blew my mind lol
Same
This is what gets me. In 2004 There was some guy in his 40s somewhere looking at me saying wow that used to be me.
Thanks for hitting me in the olds
I’m 37 and felt this on a spiritual level! Kids are calling Nickelback “dad music” now. And my years of ballet are taking its toll on my poor hip flexors. Millennials rule 🫶🏼
Nickelback has been the butt of jokes for at least a decade. It's not new. Lol
@@user-vi4xy1jw7e It always was. Nickelback was never cool.
As an older Millennial, I feel like I've been in the club for a few years, lol. Great video!
older millennial with chronic health issues, I've been in the club since I was 25 lol. I will happily be the spirit guide to other millennials and usher them into the club
Hahaha! Love this as an elder millennial! It would be so cool to see a "sequel" song about the shared experiences in Gen X and Millennial childhoods.
I identify as an Xennial. We're the "microgeneration" born 1977-1983. We have a blend of X and Millennial experiences and traits.
@@bookgirl810s my sister's are both xenials for sure. I was an 85' baby but they were huge influences on my early years!!
@@bookgirl810s yep I was using xennial for a bit but I like elder millennial more because I think the gen z crowd is starting to use Zennial for themselves. 1983 checking in lol
I'm a mid-millenial (87-93) with a Gen X sibling. I always identified better with Gen X music than with Millenial music. 😅
@@thecatfromoregon For sure. Xennial here.. Gen X gets ignored sometimes but their music for sure wins. As the vid pointed out.. which band shirts do the kids actually want?
"You don't want to aknowledge that the supermarket music is the stuff you liked in college"... that hit home 😢...
I LOVE this song! I consider myself to be on the Boomer/Gen X cusp; I was born midway through '62, but spent nearly all my childhood/young adulthood in Gen X. I totally get just about everything you mention in the lyrics, lol! Great work as always, Penn and Kim!
As a millennial, I already love all of these things. I think having kids accelerated this.
Having kids accelerates a lot of things. 🙃
"your getting gen x curious, and it's OKAY!" that was the best line Penn
As someone turning 40 this year, thanks for the welcome! 🥰❤️ This is my new favorite song!
Gonna add it on my spotify!
Oh man. As someone in this stage of life, this song is just delightful. Thank you for the welcome! Lol.
We welcome you with open arms!
I'm 38 last year I asked for back massaging equipment for Christmas as well as books. Best Christmas ever. I now sit reading in my chair while my neck, back and lower back get massaged. Pure heaven
I’m 62 and you’re spot on! Only thing, I have/had houseplants at 30 but just never named them. But I talk to them!!
And have a few cloths leftover from my 30’s!
This is perfect :D 33yrs old and I'm proud to love my houseplants, anti-aging skincare routine, low cal booze, going to bed early, and everything you said. Thanks for the warm welcome!
Thanks for making my entire week, Penn and Kim, this song is incredibly catchy! 🎶😂
Awwww thanks! Have a great day
As someone who turned 40 recently this is the best thing I’ve seen
As a 35 year old millennial (36 in October) who has a whole medicine cabinet I keep at work (including muscle relaxers and Voltaren), I felt this deeply. I need an mp3 of this now. 😂
I turned 35 this year. I’m indeed apart of this club. But now it looks kinda cool and I’m excited 😂
I’m one of those not-quite-either, stuck-in-the-middle “Xennial” peeps. Turned 40 in November. I feel like I’m mentally strong and intelligent and loving this age/stage - but my body definitely has other ideas 😂
Don’t need reading glasses *yet* (I know it’s coming) and I don’t drink alcohol so I’ve never had a hangover and can’t say how my body would respond, but other than that? Heck yes.
I love subtitles on TV (so I can “hear” it over my kids!)
Grocery stores play my jams!
Sleeping wrong happens way too often.
Sickness lingers longer.
My gallbladder’s warranty expired last year.
But really, my friends, don’t be afraid of getting older! The 30s feel like finely-aged 20s, and 40 feels like finding the ground ❤
After years of feeling like I’m looked down on, I’m not wanted, or I don’t fit in (I have 5 older sisters/siblings), thank you for welcoming me to your club! I’m happy to be here with cool people like you 😎
if your older siblings are GenX then it's likely you are also GenX cos actually it's about your parents too (at least it was back then, pre-internet). Proper boomer1 (1945~1955ish) beget the GenX, Boomer 2 (1956-68 ish) beget the millennials. anyone born in 1960 is NOT a Boomer. no way did they grow up in the shadow of WW 2. they are Jones generation.
Millennial gen starts in 1981, most of the time but sometimes it's 1980, some have Xennials from 76 thru 85, it's a newer category for hybrids that kind of grew up with the Internet. I have seen some Millennial range counters start at 83 though
I am proud to be in this club! I love the ending when you are talking to the Millennials.
Our childhoods were the best, hands down! Best toys! 🧸 🪀 Best memories!
Thanks for the fun song tribute to us!! 🥰
🙌
Tbf, every generation says that about themselves.
Saw gen z kids getting nostalgic under justin bieber videos recently. So yeah.
@@piiinkDeluxe true, true. Our toys really were the best though🥰 Definitely last longer (like decades longer) than the ones made today🥰
@@VintageToysASMR that's true. Like everything produced a few decades ago. I still have kitchen gadgets from my grandma (from the 50s/60s/70s), i feel like they would still work in 60 years lol
OMG that Advil drug deal 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I felt all of this way more than I wished to admit, but the Advil thing had me rollin. SOOOO TRUE!!!
Advil and Excedrin, omg... I keep that shit stocked in my cabinet, including the PM stuff.
Advil keeps me alive.
You guys make me laugh so hard, and the music is pretty good, too. Keep up the great work!
As a millennial that just turned 39, I resonate with this. Especially the houseplants, sleeping weird and having shoulder / hip pain, and being home / in bed early.
As a boomer Im laughing so hard. All of this was truth 20 years ago. The doors are wide open here too, come on in, the water in the walk in tub is just fine!!
Love this 😂
"You go to dinner right at 6 PM, easy reservation." Nailed it, you guys!😂😂 Love from Sweden❤
As an elder millennial about to turn 38, this is so wholesome. I feel loved and a little less scared of my impending death
As a fellow Gen X' er, I LOVED it!!!!❤
You have to help us welcome the next gen!
@@theholdernessfamily 🥰
Amen! Fellow Gen-Xer here too . 🎉
Loved this; I'm 51 and found it alarmingly familiar!
Thanks for the welcome/call-out! 30 years old here and I've been dealing with recurrent back pain that happens just because since I was 16 and have already dealt with 2 nasty sciatica flare-ups! I thought those were old-people things! 😭 Also, I remember when a lot of the songs on the Walmart radio came out and my sister and I used to have those albums... in middle school. 😭😭😭
LOL Gex Xer here and I LOVED this... Mocktails and back issues, yes 😂❤
I am 36 and I have not got rid of many clothes from being a teenager. The fact that a lot still fit me helps a lot. Now, I dress in fashion and I never left the style to begin with! Lol!
My back is perfectly fine at 38. I assume it's because I max out the weights on the back press and am no slouch on the abdominal machines either.
The naps the next day though ❤
Creative as all get out!😂👏👏👏the younger generation calling all your clothes vintage- these lyrics are priceless!!!😂😂😂😂and gen x curious!!! I cant stop smiling you guys!!! 😂😂😂
Thanks for being here ❤
@@theholdernessfamily we need 2 get u to 1 million+ subs, b/c you're fairly close to it, now!!
@@theholdernessfamily my pleasure ! 👍👏😎
Thanks for dropping this just in time for my 40th birthday! 😆
WELCOME TO THE CLUB 🎶
As a "baby millennial" (born in '97), this spoke to me. I think I grew up extra fast from getting married early and having kids right away, people are constantly surprised that I'm only 25 with 4 kids, haha. It's been worth it all the way, though, my husband is amazing and our kids are such blessings.
Kids are blessings, no matter how old you are when they're born! Welcome to the club!
I wish I had a family when I was younger. God bless you and your family.
1997 is Gen Z.
1997 are Gen Z, 1996 is the last year of Millennials.
gen Z starts in '97, you are gen Z
Thanks so much! Happy to be here! 🙋🏾♀️
OMG. This is so funny. I just started taking supplements. My 11Yo took an 80's music quiz and she got 100% because all I play in my car is 80s/ 90s music. lol
You guys are a gift to humanity
I just turned 30, so I'm a "young" millennial but I have six kids so I feel like I hit all of this a little earlier than most of. Thanks for the welcome!
Holy moly how do you do it. Having a third baby soon, am 37 about to turn 38 and I am over- stressed, then again I have a bit of adrenal Fatigue and low serotonin from PMDD, so there's that. Either way, I am impressed!!! And yes Yes many of these symptoms come with kids .. buy 1 get 1 free...
6 kids by 30?! 😅
Just sent this to my millennial: “welcome to the club, son” from his on-the-very-tail-end Boomer mom. I actually relate to so much of Gen-X. You nailed it! 😂
Ok I never comment but every single thing in this video applied to me. 💯 accurate with every line! And my newest plants are named Barb and Star. Shared advil with a stranger at my last concert (which happened to be Blink 182!)And theaters definitely better have food! 😂 Elder millennial here - 1986. Related to this one hard!
I’m an older millennial, 39. Our 13 year old is into upcycling. My husband and I have a lot of clothes from when we were young that are now back in style. So we gave them all to her to cut up and make something new. There probably is a Blink 182 tshirt in the pile.
Fav lines: "Yeah, our clothes are now trending, today Because we just never threw them away." Really spoke to me. And Ijeopardy
Gen Xer here, 46 (F) I love NKOTB, and I see all generations at the concerts. I go all the time.
Thanks!! Having my second "geriatric pregnancy" after 35. I still don't feel old. However, My oldest is 9 and I am definitely taking those stress walks here and there ; )
Elder Millennial here, I just scheduled my first mammogram! 😆
Thank you for the warm welcome. ❤
My boot leg jeans have come and gone about 5 times. Never throw clothes away 😂
Especially Levi’s
i'm now at the point: bootleg for life. genX, and bootleg weren't trendy for us, that was a 70s thing, we were too young for that, we had ripped jeans, ugly acid washed jeans, baggy jeans. bootleg suit my body type, so that's my style until I die.
Oh dear, this song is definitely for me. I'll be 35 in September and last year I discovered that my gym in town also offers massages and not pricey at all🤩. And I literally love it, when I get home early after a party to get enough sleep. And I can sip on a glass of wine for hours 😂. And my 8 year old girl thinks that I am "cringe" 😵.
Greetings from Switzerland ❤
Born in 1968 I'm an older Gen X'er but this all hits! I remember when I hit 45 I woke up one day and was like Damnit I slept wrong.😂 I saw & Felt what my momz felt at 45.😅As far as not giving a F's that happens at 50 once ya get your AARP card😂
I’m 49. Do they just send you the card at 50 or do you have to seek said card out? And what are the bennies? Inquiring minds want to know 😂🤔
I used my AARP card for first time! Awesome
@@stephanienewton6618 I turned 50 a few months ago, and I started getting stuff from AARP a few days before my birthday. It totally caught me off guard because I didn't request it or expect it! 🤣

I’m a Xennial (1976-1982 or something like that) so this all spoke to me SOOO MUCH. Especially the Disney trip planning… 🎉❤
I was born in 1982
All of your plants have names😅 I looked over at my gold pythos and was like "they're talking about you, Audrey II."
I'm a boomer, but this sure made me smile....a lot! You two are repeatedly out-doing yourselves.
I just turned 40! Glad to be here 😂
I'm a xillenial, born in 1980 right on the generation border.
I'm 41 now and just feel so much calmer than I did in my 20s.
Yes!!!
Such a great club to be in 😄 Thanks for having me!
Wait'll you're 74. The engine light is always on. 😂😂. Great video.
My husband and I connected to this song in so many ways! It's nice to know we are not alone and part of this club!
Absolutely brilliant.👍 Proud members of the club. And, our furnace is named Francine. 😂🤣
Born in the last quarter of '76. I absolutely still have outfits from the late 90s/early 00s. More than a few and proudly still wear them while feeling super trendy. Gen X and Elder Millennials unite (and Xennials, we are a real thing)! .
We're known as Xennials but I think we elder millenials have far less petty attitudes as our older club members from official X. LOL.. 😂
Drop that beat Penn! 😂 Thanks for giving our stage of life a theme song. I feel musically seen
I’m a millennial that just turned 30 and got married. I started realizing things that truly mattered to me and one of them for sure is surrounding myself with great people and company. Getting old sucks and is kind of depressing, but it’s a better when you have nice people to grow old with😊
Thanks for the welcome, I finally don't feel lame! Btw in a lot of ways I feel tons happier then when I was younger
Oh my, she she genuinely asked if the thing about having back problems after 30 years real!😮
Bless her heart and innocence.
So good!
I have been waiting for a Hit like this. Best anthem ever. Welcome to the Club!
My kids are Millenials-40 and 37, and I’m a mid-Boomer-68. I have a younger sister who is a Gen Xer. It’s a lot of fun watching my kids turn into my sister, who is turning in to me!
The supermarket music is the stuff you loved in college is a legitimately funny line
I almost passed out when I blew my nose today and had to grab the kitchen bench to steady myself...ear pressure decreased too fast 🤣
I love Penn rapping to an original song!! These are the best!! ❤❤❤❤
Turned 40 in December and this is 100% me and my new favorite song!!
As a 49yr old Gen-Xer, I feel this song more than I like it.
Same
Same
Millennials -- "The grocery store music was what I listened to in college."
Gen-X -- "I am confused by grocery store music because I only know the Weird Al version."
Thanks for the welcome. ❤ I'm turning 30 in 5 months.
You are welcomed to the club :)
I turn 40 next month. Thanks for the welcome 🥰.
I’m Gen X and love these videos,Holderness family!
Twice. (So it’s safe to say I watch your videos a ton!)
Problem is I live in AZ, so if we did work together, it’d have to be remote.
