It's so true, being a professional artist is way more than just painting and drawing. It takes the same intelligence, dedication, discipline and hard work that makes any type of business run, plus you still have to actually make the art! We're amazed that Mira found time to put in her gardens! We hope she'll come back for another visit to her local Blick store soon so we can get a peek at what's in her cart!
DEFINITELY KEEP DOING WASHI TAPES!! I love washi tape sooooo much. I have bought many things from your shop but and there all amazing but the thing I buy everytime is washi tape because it’s amazing and so cute! All my friends ask where I get them and then I tell them about your shop! I would recommend keeping the washi tape 😊💗
Winter is the perfect time to drop the coloring book that’s one of my favorite winter inside activity
The website looks beautiful. I love the embedded YT videos in the item pages of the process. It's a brilliant use of your channel, as well, because people love to see the process and hear the story behind the piece.

I love how authentic you are. I like how you have both long time planned videos and more chill hang out videos. Your husband did such a great job on the website. Changing up the space is sometimes necessary. I’d paint it exactly as you thought too. I just watched the pixel art video and loved it. Clutter definitely affects the mental health. I’d love to see a reorganization video.
I love your washi tape - especially the sparkly ones, but your designs are always so cute! I’d love to see stickers of your poppies Infinite Blooms. Love pencil cases. Love the “feeling sketchy” and “artist” designs too 💗

Mira, I've been following you for quite awhile now. I have to say, most of all I love your encouragement. I did acrylic painting for about 5-6 years and loved it. I was learning, gaining confidence, and really just enjoying myself. One day I stepped out of my comfort zone, drove down to another city close by (knowing nobody), and took a class. The instructor shattered me and broke my spirit in a matter of 5 seconds. I got up, packed my things and left in a heartbeat. As soon as I got in my car I sobbed. This was about 16 yrs ago. Never picked up a brush again until today.
My paint is cruddy. I don’t want to spend a fortune in paint, but I need something that will prove to work well enough to get decent results. There are tons of brands out there now. Can you recommend any.

I love all your paintings. Being a painter myself I know what you mean by hanging someone else's painting on your walls. I do the same thing .I guess I need to be a little braver hanging my own art.maybe I do care about other critics of my paintings. I know the older I get the less I care about what others think of my art.

Just a suggestion for item requests that require you to order a bunch is do preorders with the acknowledgment that orders won’t be shipped until amount has been met or close to.

You can use les permanent ways to hang paintings, there's a special tape made for that that won't hurt the wall and there's also that narrow shelves like gutter that you just put the painting over them

Mira, you have a beautiful garden! Would you consider painting your own garden markers, have them made and sell? My husband and son are growing pumpkins, I’d love a marker to identify what they are.

If it's clean; get out of the art world. My small townhouse is small; but I moved downstairs; so my friends and family have room to visit. They just came from a long way. Blizzard there. No heat at their families place either. Good luck! Seattle needs more real people!

Hi! Love your videos! I'm a full time teacher who loves art. I paint, sketch, etc. I'm interested in starting my art biz. How do you get started with book marks, stickers, pins , prints etc. Any help would be great!!
Wait, you edit in premiere without creating proxies? 😮 you’re braver than me 😂
What are proxies?
So basically in the project tab you highlight everything and create low res proxies (which can take hours but it sends it to adobe media encoder, so you can still work in premiere) then attach them, there’ll be a blue logo next to it once attached. It creates a tiny low res version of the original videos so you can edit faster without it freezing or crashing at all. For me it’s a game changer, adobe works much faster and I just plan in proxy time and create them every time. The video exports with the original footage and you can just delete the proxies once it’s done.
