I decided I would get a Cobra MK V as soon as it was announced that it was going to stay a small ship. I use my Cobra MK III for my exobiology gathering ship until the Mandalay was released and I love the SCO for leaving the planets and heading to the next planet to explore. The reason I switched from the Asp Explorer to the Cobra MK III was because I bought a carrier and can use it to make the long travel jumps and then use the speed of the Cobra for exploring the systems nearby. The other reason I use the Cobra MK III is because it is way easier to find a landing spot when hunting down the Fungoida Setisis in Mountainous terrain with a small ship. I used the Diamondback Explorer for several months but switched to the Cobra MK III because it is faster. Speed is valuable when scanning Exobiology because you have to travel a lot both near the planet surface and between planets and all that travel time adds up. Spend over an hour trying to find a place to land near a Fundgodia Setisis sample and then having to travel for over three hours in an SRV to locate and sample the three requisite samples, is what made me switch to the small ship for exobiology. The longest I have spent trying to find a landing spot in a small ship is about twenty minutes however the average is about 7 minutes. One could argue that Fungodia Setisis just isn't worth the time and effort for the paltry 1.67 million credits you get for it but I pride myself on finding all the exobiology in a system and feel defeated if I cannot which I must admit has happened on a few occasions after spending three or four days trying to find that last sample and coming up with nothing I will take the loss. LOL

Yeah, agreed. That is exactly right. there is something to being a completionist when you get the First Footfall. Don't want to that 1.6M credits X FF Bonus going to waste. The DBX was like an assault helicopter when operating near the ground going from LZ to LZ. The Mandalay is great, and good at landing, but not as good as a small boy. Just got back from Beagle in one. 0% Paint and 0% integrity and boy did it start to look the part. Love the Mandalay, but will look at some Exobio with the Cobra MK V for just the reason you said.
I'm also a completionist, but sometimes those bacteria that are actually invisible against the surface make me think about just skipping them. There've been some that I can only tell are there even at close range by the composition scanner beeping!
I'm sorry for a newbie question. Why the ship is constantly swaying a little and not pointing straight at one point? I've just started playing this game, and when I fly and don't touch controls my ship flies just straight.
