Todd Phillips just announced that they never created the movie as a musical. Instead, more like the original but with music being an essential element to it.
The only reason ppl latched onto the “musical” quote was bc it was in ONE interview from a cast member that saw an early cut of the movie and said it “was musical” and blew it WAY out of proportion . . It’s like saying Guardians of the Galaxy is a musical.
There is a ton of music in Guardians, and sometimes the characters will sing along to it, and music is really important to Quill. This movie will have songs we all know, but the characters interact with the music.
It’s ridiculous that people got so worked up about nothing.
@Persephone_Personified I agree..... what it's doing with music is similar to the stand up comedy in the first. Arthur, found some comfort or escapism through comedy and he usually fantasized about being on that stage. My assumption is that he'll be doing something similar but with music in this one. Whatever Phillips decided to do I know he'll convey it similar to the first where it's Oscar worthy. Love how he makes a comic book movie not feel like a comic book movie. No hate against them.... I love them..... but it's refreshing to see someone not afraid to take risks.

Phoenix will win his bi and Gaga will also be bi for winning her first Oscar as an actress and her second for music for being part of the soundtrack. They have chemistry in terms of metrics, photography, framing, dialogue, singing scenes , everything in this trailer is perfect and motivating, the best thing is that they didn't give away the main narrative and it allows several theories and that's great, another thing is the fact that it feels like watching classic cinema, the old art of Hollywood... This film will be heavily nominated for an Oscar, a strong candidate in 2025.

This blew my mind.
Not sure if you guys remember Fall Out Boys' song called "America's Suitehearts".
The music video was them being circus characters, and there's a guy who fell into a green goo which then turned him to a crazy clown type circus master. Then a girl watching him, who I guess kinda liked him, followed him to the circus and also fell into the goo.
They then became sort of partners, that were crazy together.
It's very simillar to a Joker and Harly Quinn love story. Coincidence??
And get this, the song "America's Suithearts" was from Fall Out Boy's album called FOLIE á DEUX... 😐 🤯

I think instead of harley just being a tool that the joker uses to escape they are going for more of an Bonnie & Clyde vibe. I cannot wait to see what sights they show us!

The buzz for the trailer for "Joker - Folie a Deux" is truly rousing! Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix certainly make a dynamic duo, and their performances in this trailer are simply mesmerising. It wouldn't be surprising if they were both rewarded with an Oscar for their outstanding performances. Joaquin Phoenix's interpretation of the Joker is so convincing that it could well be that he makes history and wins another Oscar for the same iconic character. The anticipation is high and the accolades would be more than deserved for this talented duo.

Even patients in asylums could also be psychiatrists or therapists. So even though she’s in Arkham maybe she was previously a psychologist/psychiatrist on the outside.
Maybe she IS a therapist but was pushed over the edge and ended up in Arkham.
Also, Todd Philips said it’s NOT a musical. Someone that is in the movie saw an early cut of the film and said it “was musical”. . so it was never intended to be an actual musical. Yes there is music in it, but it’s more Guardians of the Galaxy music use not the Sound of Music type movie.
