I can't thank you enough for showing how to remove the battery with isopropyl alcohol. Removing battery always stressed me out because one deform damages the battery. Lol. My way was heating the back side(front lcd side) which works but your way is easier and safer. Thank you!
@@rickstechrepairs Great advice. I always take the battery out last after everything else is removed just in case it catches fire and burn down the whole phone. 😁 Yes, I've done that once before. 🙈😩
This was extremely helpful, just got done doing this repair right along side of you. A couple things that threw me off was my internals were a little different than yours (yes it is an S20FE), that is what the other commenter is talking about, the side bracket things. Not sure what they are for, but they did swap over no problem. My replacement was $120 from ebay and did have the battery adhesive already installed, but it did not have the thermal compound sheet under the main board, kind of frustrating. I was able to peel it up and transfer to the replacement although it did sustain a little damage, but cosmetics on that shouldn't matter. Really happy how smooth this went, thanks again!
Hi, I did the screen replacement OK as per the video. Screen works fine but GSM bars are almost not visible and the GPS does not work. Did a factory data reset but the problem is still there. No other issues. Any suggestions to fix this? Many thanks
I've had mine in a case since I got it in April and it's already happening. So I would say yes. The coloured aluminium finish on the metal frame is very thin. Something might have scraped against it while it was in the case but it shouldn't have happened at all imho
@@rickstechrepairs thanks ,just ordered G780 frame for G781 and changed. found it important to heat from the bottom a bit to around 60C to keep glue on the small 5g board when transfer ,everything else went well ,thanks!
I tried but when i turned on it looked very faint grey and the battery percent zoomed to 100 even though i just plugged it in. Its a black screen now but once in a while if i press power button a greyish color wil pop out with the faint 100charge will appear then turn off again. A very faint silhouette of my daughter will dhow then turn off. What does this mean. All the plugs are in correctly.
Just came across this, and for some reason seeing these repairs done, the slave cable to the motherboard looks so easy to install back on, but I can't seem to get mine to fit properly for the screen to turn on 😔 I got a new motherboard for mine and the slave cable won't fit, it's the right size too
odd, shouldnt be too much trick to it. Line up over the top of the connector wiggle it a little with your finger push down with pressure Should click in to position
@@rickstechrepairs the grey one is most noticeable at 11:34 there is a grey bracket at the top right hand side of the screen/frame and it’s not in the shot but there is also a black bracket on the bottom left side of the screen/frame. My bad if you did transfer it and I missed it I just look up videos sometimes when I’m not sure about something I don’t watch them all the way through usually.

Just be careful with the iso around rubber and the LCD/oleds as it can warp the material

Contact cleaner works better but also be careful around Oled/lcd

possibly issues with
aftermarket display and frame
issues with antenna connection not being good (antenna not plugged in)
Does the colour coating on the metal frame scraps after 1 or may be 2 years of use ? Please answer
No idea

Where do you buy the assembly
From a local Samsung part seller
Will it retain waterproofing after Applying Back frame Glue..?
depends how much glue you use
And what if, I get it repaired from officials..?
In between the screen and the back cover, along the sides of the phone there is a type of medal piece. Can that one piece be changed?
Thank you !!!
Cheers
Is there a link to where you got yours?
i purchased from a local seller
see you're using s20 FE board for the s20 fe 5g ,is there any other deifference than the 5g antenna on the left?
The replacement frame / display is the same for the s20 Fe and Fe 5G

Do you not need to transfer the grey and black side brackets on the top right and bottom left of screen ?
Not sure what you mean, at what time is it shown ?
What's the cost of the frame and screen combo?? As my S20 FE bent 🥲
