I had that problem too. The trick is to not dip your mold into the batter completely or else when it hits the oil it will cook onto the entire mold and won't be able to come off. If you watch the video carefully you will see that the batter doesn't cover the top of her mold when she dips it. It will work, trust me! :)
I just returned home from Hawaii where I tried these cookies for the first time. My family loved them. They were delicious. I am going to the local Asian market today to buy the necessary items so that I can make these. Thank you so much for sharing.
I have rosette irons but the recipes u have to eat them fresh or else they get soggy-- they come outcrispy unliike these they come out soggy and get crispy! Love this!
Very creative & beautiful - can't wait to get a lotus wand to make them !!! The soft music was so pleasing in the background - so many videos have such loud music I never go back - congratulations & thank you, Joy
I have not tried the rosette recipe with all purpose flour but I have seen the wands/molds and they look cool. I think the lotus flower cookie mold is the prettiest of them all.
I've seen these made cookies in Asian stores but never try them. But now I'll give it a try. Do more videos because your very inspire me a lot. When you make a video on your recipes it makes me want to learn how to cook.
Thank you so much, i love your recipes. I will try this recipe today. Btw, your steam rice cake recipe is the best. It always comes out delicious everytime i make them.

What you made is really pretty and delicious. I always tries to find the wand so i can make them but i can never find it where i live. thanks for the recipe.
Wow, beautiful music included in this delightful video. I was hoping to make rosettes for my in-laws at Christmas this year. Now I will go to Asian market and get this iron so I can make these instead. Your wonderful clear voice and delicate fingers have added class to my holiday this year. Thank you very much, Cheers!
The video is excellent. Your demonstration is clear and firm. Nice idea of the aluminium sheet ball, so that give the lotus a nice rounded shape, so I suscribed your video. Thanks and congrats, Wish you success
For the people looking for the wand, it's called a rosette iron. You can a find cast iron to aluminum irons on amazon. Love these "cookies". It's texture is more like a chip. =)
Omg can't wait to try this! Thnx so much. I hope you do a mushroom salad soon! Idk what the Hmong ppl call it, but its that salad you find almost every eating
The reason for not washing the wand, is so that the non stick coating doesn't come off. The wand gets season(builds up a non stick coating on the metal, when ever it gets in contact with grease) If you did wash it with soap, it will be as if the wand is new and haven't been season. Making the cookie batter stick and not release off easily like in her video. Same concept apply with a metal wok pan, don't wash it either with soap, only hot water and air dry. New metal that hasn't been season will
