Theyre the same thing. Freestyle doesnt ALWAYS mean off the top.
People sleep on Mr. Porter.. he's flowin on this. Royce, who is usually phenomenal, is just a bit off on this- he's trying to do too much over the track. Em is doing Em stuff as always.. Honestly, Mr. Porter rides the beat best on this freestyle session.

@@christopher4101you're entitled to your own opinion, but it's not a requirement to be complex to ride a track with flow. Porter was witty and his flow was on point. Royce was trying to jam to many syllables into each phrase. I'm a big fan of Royce. I'm also a big fan of straight-up flow. This wasn't Royce's best work on that front. Like I said.. trying to do too much. Head bob is a thing and Porter did that.
@kovert6407 if anyone can do it, it isn't impressive. If you don't care about the raw talent, why do you even listen to rap music?

In most professions, there are subtle things top skilled tradesmen do that most people don't even notice- things they do that are so effortless it goes unnoticed or seems easy. Typically, only other skilled tradesmen recognize that nuance and understand the value in it. This could be the spin on a golf ball on an otherwise average chip shot, the precise control and leave of position after making an 'easy' straight in corner pocket shot in pool, or a detail in a joint in a plain-looking desk drawer crafted by a woodworker. Completely unnoticed and un-valued by most onlookers who only gawk at the obvious big play or gaudy and lavish projects, but held in high esteem by masters of the craft. I've been listening to hip hop and rap since before it was played on radio stations, likely longer than you've been alive. I know a thing or two about "rap music". The fact that you think anyone can do what Mr. Porter did tells me all I need to know about your appreciation for nuance. You are entitled to your opinion, and I'm entitled to mine. Let's leave it at that.
@@christopher4101...to put it another way- there's a reason why Em and Royce are sharing a stage with Mr. Porter. I would submit that perhaps they have respect for his skill and it's part of why they associate with him, or invite him to join them on Westwood- as opposed to just anyone.
