I think it's really nice that they're putting a lid on it and building new developments, great land use and TOD. will absolutely be great especially as Amtrak expands services, and will be important people increasingly choose trains over cars and planes, climate crisis and all.
This plan shows no evident business expansion in the building or customer experience enhancements. It looks like a pair of shiny new shoes to build a multimillion dollar housing complex. It looks no different than a greyhound station. Where are the cafes and restaurants for customers?
@@JermaniBurroughs China has invested massive percentage of GDP in infrastructure. US has invested a trillion a year in military industrial complex and imperialism, and a trillion dollars a year in justice system, courts and prisons. Build it and no one will come. People that do go to the buildings only go because they need a train or they're homeless and need a place to go. Major money pit.
@TDM-MDT It is fiscally irresponsible to dump more money into this boondoggle of a project. You and people with this kind of thinking are why this country is in so much debt. We can't keep throwing money at things that don't work. Authorities have mismanaged this property, and people like you want to hand them more and more money, expecting a different result. Insanity! We can't take care of our people, and you want to throw more money, we don't have at a building! We had nearly 100,000 people die of fentinyl poisoning last year. The bank account is empty; we don't have the money to give to another failed beurocratic project. Sell it to a private organization with real accountability. I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you. The definition of oxymoron.

No shops or places to eat? Where will the lunch time crowd from the Hill go to eat? I see only a big, empty shell and wonder... why?
Really strange, right?
and 10 billion dollars, no one bats an eye.
Stop building theme parks and actually build much needed infrastructure and public transport system.

This is the kind of shortsightedness that has led this country's infrastructure to the state it is in now.
