In this mix Jah Massagan plays a vast selection of vinyl and dubs from the 70s/80s Roots Reggae era. Voices such as Yabby you, Dennis Brown, Black Uhuru and many more. In this mix you can see the two juggling vinyl on both turntables however in the 70s & 80s Lloyd would use one turntable to play vinyl as this was the common theme during Sound System Culture.
Lloyd Morris together with amplifier-builder Tony Mass, founded Jah Massagan Sound System in Leyton in 1972. Jah Massagan is known for hardcore roots reggae and unbeatable dubplates. Jah Massagan was stylistically aligned to Moa Anbessa, one of London’s most revered roots reggae sets; Lloyd has killer one-off dubs from King Tubby, Lee Perry, Channel One, Joe Gibbs, and many more. In addition, Lloyd has a deep vast collection of reggae vinyl from early ska to rockers, dancehall, lovers rock, dub and most importantly roots reggae. Lloyd has been a selector/DJ on Jah Massigan Sound for over 50+ years with a rich experience in Sound System Culture. Since the birth of his son, Eljay Morris has taken a step under his father's wing and joined Jah Massagan. Eljay has developed a passionate love for vinyl specifically roots reggae and is familiar with sound system culture. Eljay has gained experience in selecting music and playing vinyl as he has watched and studied his dad over the years.

Some really nice tunes from "back in the day" Big Up a great era of Beautiful reggae music!!! I remember there was another sound in the middle 70's early 80's called Jah Massigan from Birmingham in the days of Quaker City, Mafiatone, Zion, Nyah and Jungleman et Al. Maybe it was a different spelling?? A good sound with some memorable guys playing the Tunes, dolphous and Sufferer if i can remember right!!!

I played through the 70s,80s, 90s I could throw down a decent mix in my day, but if I was dropping reggae music, it would be played exactly as it is being played here.
