- Setting up drip irrigation! | Planting and mulching in My Carolina Garden! Woohoo, I have been an old-school gardener, watering everything by hand forever. Setting up drip irrigation is such a treat. It'll cut down on the amount of time I spend watering, of course, but will also make taking vacations easier.
While planting and mulching in the garden, I get distracted, carried away, and have to laugh at myself. Ever start a gardening job and then lose track of what you're doing, so that you end up doing a different gardening task? Me too :)
My name is Nicole Roggeman, and I am a gardener in zone 8B in coastal North Carolina. Gardening is my passion, and I like to try new combinations of plants together, I plant for fun and try not to worry too much. Since My Carolina Garden is in Wilmington NC, we have hot, humid summers, and have sandy soil here. These are all things I keep in mind throughout the growing season. Excellent job, this garden has great parents!💚
Woohoo! 💚 Thanks! 😁
Girl you are going to love this new journey of drip irrigation!!! Don’t have to be a pro to install. I set a daily schedule for my watering devices and watch for rain in the forecast, which I turn on rain delay….all from my phone. I can be across the country on vacation and turn water on or off.
Oh my gosh, that is so amazing!!! It's sort of embarrassing it took this long to set up, but I'm sooo happy!! Thanks for reaching out and have a great weekend!
Hi my dear friend thank you so much for another great video. Always enjoy coming over and seeing what you’re sharing.
Thank you very much, I appreciate having you!
loved the video, drip irrigation is a great help. thanks for sharing.
Thank you, yes I look forward to enjoying the time I'm saving by not watering 😁
My dream! Hopefully I will get irrigation one day. So happy for you!
I know, right!? I was dreaming of it for a long time! It was fairly simple but it gets expensive if you have a big space 😕 Hoping you one day get your irrigation!! 💚😊
Hi Necole 🌺. You husband did a wonderful work , now you will rest from watering the plants with the hose . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
Hi there! Yes I feel so thankful that we finally did this! Thanks for writing. Enjoy your day 😊💚
Greetings from Ireland, Great job, Its the bees knees.
Thank you! I hope your weekend is the bees knees! 😊
Very interesting!! Your hubby did a fantastic job. Now your watering days can be limited. Thanks for sharing. See you next time.❤❤❤
Thank you, I look forward to the time I'll get back not having to water, where I can just sit and enjoy my garden 😀 See you next time! 💚
New sub here! I love your videos! You 2 did a nice job, setting up your drip! Trust me it's a relief! I recently ran 4 zones. I am constantly making adjustments to the flows. I'm currently using bubbler style emitters. I have ornamental plants and shrubs on the same zones, so getting the right amount of water to them is challenging! Please keep us posted!
Thank you so much! Constantly making adjustments doesn't sound like a ton of fun, but I guess it beats dragging the hose around. I think I'll end up with 4 zones once the back gets done, also. Thanks so much for reaching out. Happy Friday!
Good job👍
Thank you 😊
Buy a moisture meter and actually check around your garden randomly. 🤪 I couldn’t figure out why a couple of my hydrangeas were suffering. Don’t you need a backflow preventer 🤪 sorry got that wrong at first.
Good idea with the moisture meter! If you have drip irrigation already, and you're mentioning backflow preventer, then I'm going to say probably! lol. I have no idea, but I'll check it out. Thanks! 🙂
What type of irrigation system did you use (brand name and purchase location etc.)? I currently use the tape style drip.
Thanks
The brand is Orbit, and everything came from Lowe's. Thanks for reaching out.
