I think if she is experienced enough to ride down Arlington that when she comes off the foot of the bridge she can turn right on Dufferin, left on McGregor and avoid the pothole-ridden Powers street which from what I can see is a couple streets out of the way. If you feel the need to take a side street for safety McKenzie is one street over and no back-tracking. :)
***** Yeah, it sucks but I still use my bike as much as possible - despite all the troubles, it's still better than taking the bus. It's always something whenever I take the bus; either there's a fight, or a group of drunks, or a group of loud teens, or it's packed, or it's empty and a drunk guy wants to chat it up with me.
Not always but often! The joys of interacting with the public. :) I believe that cycling is safer than transit for that reason. Pick your danger - vehicle traffic or undesirable people/situations.
Well John Forrester ! Should she race at 35-40kmh thru town ?! Vehicular cycling is passé. Riding in the city is not meant as a race. She is cycling a light gear ? That has more effect on your heart rate and it's better than a heavy gear., So shevwont rip her knees.
Wow, no turn signals!

Winnipeg simply isn't meant for cyclists - I don't say this as a hater, I say this as a cyclist myself. This city is a BITCH to get around on a bike.

There's negative sides to every form of transportation. Pick your poison.
you are not a cyclist . you are a spoiled brat .
I'm sorry but this is not how you cycle. She has no leg muscle and is in the wrong gears, she is going incredibly slow so of course there is a hazard.
Sorry, cycling does not have to be onky for the strong or the sports minded.
