I'm old enough to remember when Selkirk Ave was still a decent working class shopping area. It was ok up until the mid 80s.

When i was in high school in Selkirk , i would catch a bus up North Main and take in all the action. ,on "Beaver Bus Lines" .I remember some of the seedy hotels on North Main, the Sutherland , Particia, Occidental, McClarin and the not so seedy Green Briar.
