The fact that Fiona called frank “dad” you can tell she was just as scared as he was.
I noticed that too
No🤦♂️
@@savagegod8555 yess 💁
That part fucks me up every single time.
I love that Fiona had a bond with all of them but I especially love Fiona’s bond with Ian and Carl and I love Lip’s bond with Debbie and Liam just love the family dynamic
so basically everyone but Lip
@@mbrammy7 Lip and Debbie were ungrateful and selfish shits to Fiona
I also love the bond the Gallaghers have with V & kev & how they can just walk in each other’s homes without knocking
@@partyangel6675 i wish i had neighbours like v and kev, they really make shameless a good show
I love Ian and carls bond with her too bc they are the main ones who never yell at her she has done so much for them and Debbie and lip are always yelling at her and always mad at her like when they fuck up its not a big deal and Fiona helps them but once she fucks up they kick her to the curb and make her suffer and help her self
I like how Steve stepped in, this showed how much he cared about the family
There was also a lady bleeding out right in front of him sooo..... its not like he was just going to let her sit there.....
@@ericapoitras9223 Frank let her sit there. Others looked on in shock. So...
It was this scene that showed Monica’s bp episodes never got this bad hinting the way they just stood there in shock.
@@kagelynxbecause he went through medical school he knew what to do
Jimmy/Steve stepped in for a lot of reasons. Yes, he cared about the family. Also, he had a couple years of medical school under his belt, so he knew what to do and how to keep himself composed. (I could also see V doing the same thing as Jimmy/Steve did, but she was busy getting Carl and Debbie out so they wouldn't see anything else.) Finally, the level of shock for him wasn't as serious compared to Fiona, Frank, and Ian since Jimmy/Steve isn't related to Monica and has pretty much no personal relationship with her. It makes sense that Jimmy/Steve was the one to step in.
how is no one talking about how debbie befriended a homeless grown man 😭
Kid Debbie was a menace. She stole a baby and raped someone 😭
fr
i mean it was nice tho💀
That is actually a great point.
well it’s the gallaghers
When Fiona held on to Ian. 😭😭😭
The woman who plays monica does such a perfect job and deserves all the praise.
This scene had me crying not cause she almost died but for the poor kids
and Conrad like that dude just wanted dinner
Conrad must’ve been so confused on what was going on because he probably just wanted to eat
They did such a good job depicting bipolar disorder in this show,
Is it weird I feel more sorry for the wasted foods than monica
Same
Na, it's not weird better to care about food than a piece of trash
@@shreyasingh6150 ehm😐😑😐
@@virtualmaster8555 fr Monica kinda ruined a lot 😔
@@sweettea735 ye I guess
The one time Fiona calls Frank dad
Then scumbag Frank slips right back into his shitty ways.
She called him dad in the very first episode
And he abandoned her needs and let her handle it. I could definitely seeing nine year old phi calling her dad and him just being the same pos💔
Dude it makes me feel so bad Ian knowing that sense he has bipolar like his mom, and he experienced what it makes her do, thinking that it might make him do crazy stuff too
What sucks is that mental illness can also be hereditary
@@Capo_dadon918that’s why ian has it because he got it from monica
Man Jimmy really saw this and took action in the same second while everyone else was in shock.
yeah because he went to medical school he knew what to do
@@ImSakina_ Exactly. Plus, the emotional shock for him would have been less than the others, since he barely knew Monica. He was able to come to his senses faster than anyone else. I mean, it was still a huge shock for him I'm sure, but it wasn't HIS mother on the floor.
I miss having chaotic family dinners with my family like this *not the suicide part but the sitting around the table everyone talking and eating making jokes passing food
It’s interesting to see the different reactions to Monica
Frank shuts down and walks away
Fiona becomes frantic and tries to keep everything together
Jimmy Steve jumps into action to try and help as best he can and takes charge
Vs immediate reaction is to protect the kids
I love how protective Fiona is of her family that she grills Ian on why he didn’t come home or send a text but sees that once he is home she ends up comforting him, whereas later Fiona ends up leaving and Monica and bitch face are there and the kids ask what’s happening the two adults in the situation are like wtf you need to know?? It’s the Gallagher’s way of showing they care about each other in little ways
People blaming Fiona for getting Monica out from under the stairs fail to remember that she probably doesn't know all the details about BD like you might, and possibly thought by having her engage would help. It's not like she knew that would happen, your experiences aren't the exact same as everyone elses.
bpd is borderline personality disorder..
@@baguettebtch they said BD as in bipolar disorder
I think they as a family learn more about bipolar when starts to happening with Ian, someone they all care about. Monica wasn’t there always so they didn’t have to be 100% focused on that. In final season everyone is remember Ian to take his meds and asking him if he was okay in stressful situations
It’s Frank’s fault
and then right afterwards was when lip found out karens baby wasnt even his. this episode was painful as hell. ups and downs in every episode of this show.
I watched it last night and I was left stunned
poor Conrad must’ve been so damn confused
I was gonna say. Poor guy just wanted a meal.
I started crying because this was my thanksgiving this year this scene is just too real
im so sorry. hope youre doing okay now ❤
I know Monica couldn’t help it but this was so selfish.
it's all I can think about
Frank gave her all that lithium
Right. This dinner could’ve been such a good memory for them all. I feel bad for Monica sometimes, but I can excuse not getting help and doing her children this way.
It's not selfish a lot of people struggle and deal with pain in different ways then others, and people can't help it at all even when they take their medications and sometimes the medications stops working or doesn't help at all or make it worse, I'll know because of my experience and the pain and suffering I'll deal with on a daily basis.
@@alexiajackson1048 they’re not mutually exclusively. No doubt we struggle and deal with pain differently but it doesn’t take away the fact that our actions and reactions can hurt people along the way. It’s important that people with mental health issues learn to be accountable as well. This lack of awareness of how our actions affect the people around us is what gives ppl w mental health issues a bad rep. Just because we struggle doesn’t mean it’s ok for us to be jerks, or feel like we’re entitled to not be held accountable for hurting the people around us just based on the fact that we have diagnosed ailments.
Look the foreshadowing in this show when they give Ian a close up
I blame Frank. Maybe if he had just left her in bed and not had given her cocaine and pills it wouldn't have happened.
I blame Monica coz she's a FEMINIST stop blaming everything on FRANK!
Thank you for uploading all these scenes!!!
1:54 has me dying dude 😭
This scene hits too close to home. My mother is also bipolar and has attempted to take her own life multiple times. I am extremely lucky to have never found her after or while she was attempting. Her latest attempt was last year and I was at prom. The amount of trama it would cause to find your mother or anyone attempting is horrible. This scene hurts
I’m surprised that Fiona didn’t tell Debbie don’t talk to strangers it’s very very dangerous to invite a homeless person into your house
Normally, yes, but this is the Gallaghers!
this scene was so scary :/
No it wasn’t
@@abri4945 i don't care
@@emily-cf4fr You're right. It was traumatic upon first viewing.
It was more unexpected than scary
"Im gonna go wash my hands"
Didn't she slash her wrists? (I forgot)
With blood
You didn't have to be _that_ thorough with it Monica 😭
they should’ve left her alone under the stairs she probably wouldn’t have attempted if she had her meds and was in her safe spot
she would have and much faster because shed be all alone
If anything she’d especially feel the urge to because she’d be secluded and alone
@@deano290 that's what I just said 💀
@@thatissoquebecishh2134 so..im agreeing with you, im not sure why you’re angry about that.
As a bipolar person myself, (schizoaffective is my full diagnosis, so bipolar is part of that diagnosis), Fiona should not have forced Monica out from under the steps and thrown her into a mega-stressful situation like she did. I know 100% what it's like to be in a bipolar depressive state, and more than that, a suicidal bipolar depressive state, so as much as I can't stand Monica much in this show, I do feel for her during this scene.
Hi!
I have a genuine question about it, I absolutely don’t want to sound bad or anything, excuse me if it is the case!
In these situations, if we leave the person (here Monica) alone, won’t they feel left aside and not being included, and won’t that make them feel even more lonely and accentuate their depressive thoughts ?
I always want to be sure to make everyone included, so I’m sincerely scared to push someone out of their zone when I shouldn’t do,,,
My question is, how to make someone feel included and not being left over, without putting pressure on them and raising their anxiety?
You don’t have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable, I would totally understand!
I’m either way, I hope you’re doing well, take care
@@emi.sphere Honestly, it really kind of depends on the person with the illness. With myself, my husband and daughters (they're 15 and 18 now) know the signs when I've taken a dive emotionally, and also when I'm manic. I was diagnosed back in 2013, so by now they know what to do, what to say, what NOT to do/say, etc. If it's someone who you don't know very well, and they're in a depressive state, it's best to just leave them be. Pushing a Bipolar person in a depressive episode can prove detrimental. If they're manic, the best thing to do is just ride it out with them, even as annoying as it can be. But be prepared for the depressive side, right around the corner. I hope this helped your issue, and it didn't make me uncomfortable at all. In fact, it's very good that people like yourself ask questions like this, and want to be educated about this illness. Especially if it's someone close to you. Take care!
Sounds like a cop out to me. I have my own conditions I suffer from but falling back on mental illness is just selfish... you really do have to be stronger for those around and I've seen truly depressed people keep it together only and solely because of their family.
Monica made her bed
Man fuck that snap out of it and eat dat turkey ayyye
I agree
We got a big turkey we got a big turkey!! 😂😂
i was laughing so hard when she said that hahah
Jimmy was my favorite character yea he had his problems but man did he step up for them when he could.
And Fiona treated him like crap when he had one problem. Most people would have problems finding out their dad is bisexual and having sex with a teenager.
@@bobbierobinson6269 right
When frank just walked out 😖

happy thanksgiving watching this on thanksgiving day :)
haha debbie and carl have turkey hats
This is a terrifying situation. When I was in the psychward a girl in the room next to mine did this in the middle of the night, and everything was chaotic, and traumatizing. I've had to stop people, and I've lost people, but I've never been in the same room as someone who had done it themselves...
I went through the same at 13. She had pills somewhere hidden when she was put in. Paracetamol. Ugh. She was so sick and then suddenly there were alarms and people everywhere. She didn't come back to our ward but they did tell us she was ok.
thank you for taking out the actual scenes of it. it makes me very uncomfortable :)
0:00 we got a big turkey 🎶
one of the only times she called Frank dad
This scene left me speechless
Happy thanksgiving everyone 😂
should have left her under there. Forcing a Kodak holiday moment against people will is what makes 'family' hard to take. No grandma, I am not going to invite the uncle on the sex offenders list to thanksgiving because he's fammmmilly.
Right, it’s best to check on them, ask if they want to join and if not just leave them alone they know they’re always welcome to join if they change their mind.
They didn't know how to handle her. Cut them some slack. Monica would have slit her wrists regardless of they forced her out or not. If they left her there she would have done it anyway
She wouldve done it anyway.
“Gay son or thought daughter?”
Monica:
Poor conrad
Seems like I’m the earlier seasons Frank was still a shit person, but still had his moments. While now in the later and ending Seasons he was still kinda having his moments but mostly shitty
That was Frank. He had the ability and capacity to be a good dad, he just didn’t want to.
It wouldn’t be so bad raising those kids if they didn’t grow up ungrateful
… they have little to nothing to be thankful for other then the fact they have siblings and neighbors who love them

This one of the very few times Fiona refers to frank as dad, she immediately turned back into the scared little girl she used to be, this show brought out every emotion for me especially this episode, my mom has bpd and would do things like this often especially around the holidays, its still hard for me to watch this episode fully I always have to pause before they all go to the kitchen.

Ah back in the day when the writers knew how to write drama
It wasn't that longggggg ago dude.
If it wasn't for Jimmy, she probably would have died because they were all paralyzed by fear and shock seeing their mother like that. What a traumatic experience.
I can honestly feel for Monica because I’m also bipolar and I also take lithium and sequil and it’s really hard 😭
i hate both monica and frank they are shitty parents but compare the two monica is infinetly better because atleast she realised how dangerous she was to this family she even refused to get out when frank and debbie tried to make her escape at the mental hospital because she said she needed help. thats why she ran away in season 3 she knew not having her for the rest of their lives was for the better.
@@thatissoquebecishh2134 not really she used that as an excused to leave her kids if you realize these are all symptoms of bipolar disorder her running away her being sexually active and being fine for a few days and then crashing she isn’t mentally stable enough to even stay in the house she didn’t run away from the mental hospital because she found a girl

People commenting about how selfish Monica was to do this at Thanksgiving dinner with her family there need to remember that she was also suffering from a debilitating mental illness, which is not her fault. I don't have much sympathy for Monica as a general rule, because she was horrible, but it's important to remember that dealing with bipolar disorder is a real struggle, even for a person who ISN'T an addict/junkie like Monica.

I fu**ing hate that you cant watch the series in sweden!
I read in the comment section of an earlier Shameless video that if you buy a VPN and change the country's setting to US, you'd be able to watch it. Might be worth looking into.
What happened?
Monica (the one under the stairs)cut her wrists because she is bipolar and she was depressed. They got her to the hospital in time. I hope this made sense
Honestly frank is mostly somewhat a good dad but he made me mad in this episode I get they were under shock but he could have at-least did smth
I gotta say this is not how you handle someone with bipolar disorder whose off their meds, by forcing them out into a family gathering
